His rugby career "ended" in an ill-fitting manner for such an iconic figure in the game and that ban must have hit him harder than we could have guessed. He's made his mistakes and this is the biggest one yet and I hope his family and friends pull through after this tragic, shocking loss. I guess if we haven't been in that state of mind we'll never quite fathom what drives people to take their own lives so young when there's still so much to live for. Far too young to leave us, Terry
He should be remembered as a great player of the greatest game, because that's what he was. The tears at the 2003 final sum Terry Newton up. Passionate, dedicated, and a fierce competitor. And by all accounts a great bloke off the pitch too. I'm pretty sure that the RL community will show their usual fortitude and support.
