You do realise that there is a full minute after a try for the kicker to mess about before the clock is stopped. I think you will find Rocky kicked it straight away and Leeds made use of the time ref was not out of order

The amount of fans who don't know basic things like this is shocking. The one minute to take a kick/restart the game ruling has been in place for years.

The referee will stop the clock 1 minute after a try is awarded only if the kicker takes 1 minute. Rocky didn’t. He kicked straight away. Therefore the ref has to wait for the touch judges to get into position for the resulting kick off. He then calls time off.

We could have opted to not take the kick.

Loose by 4 and have a minute or so to score again.

I thought that when they scored too but to be honest Hampshire just set the kick just smacked it over the post. No lining up or anything. Must have delayed us about 10 seconds. I was quite impressed with that.

I thought that the rule was that once a conversion is made, the team to restart the match have 30 seconds on the clock to restart; if not then after 30 seconds the ref stops the clock until the game restarts. I said this at the time and it is pretty much what Kendall did, he stopped the clock after close to 30 seconds after Hampshire kicked the goal.

Having said that I also said if we were in the same position as Leeds we would have slowly walked back too. Unsporting conduct if you like but virtually everyone does it.

I think what was a lot worse was last season in our 2nd game of the season, away at Huddersfield where the home side blatantly ate up the clock by delaying numerous goal line drop outs in the final few minutes of the match. Is it just coincidence that Kendall was ref that day too and did absolutely nothing about it.

The delaying tactics by Hudds was absolutely appalling.
