One of the best wingers in the world reduced to a battering ram.

I’m afraid I now agree with Mopsey, Chester doesn’t have a clue.

You could argue that some of the players don’t but Chesters paid to chuffing give them one.

Every ball slow, every run back into traffic, passes to nobody, lots of individual effort in the tackle but zero organisation.

Nothing just nothing that resemble RL.

There simply is no excuse anymore.

Time to go, for Chester

Vasty This simply cannot go on, I feel that we are in a downward spiral and sleepwalking in the abyss. The way I see it is we have no hope for the future unless there is a complete restructuring of the rugby side of things. We have drifted along for the last few years with imo not one player improving and the team going backwards. Everything needs looking at the pre season, the fitness levels, no excuse here we might not be the most talented but can be the strongest and fittest. Our style of play needs changing our structure our work effic, our determination, our defence, no stone should be left unturned. I don’t see Chester as the man to oversea this he’s had chance after chance to change things but hasn’t or just plain stubbornly he won’t he simply does not see and identify what we need.
Let’s take a look at the players, have we got bad players, have we players not trying or giving up, I wouldn’t say so but we are a complete mess all over the place.
Why when we have the lightest back line in senior, Walker, jowitt, lynn, tj, rocky expect them to run the ball from their own line and get battered, I don’t care if it’s the modern game if they can’t make ground get the forwards back behind the ball and clear the danger, the backs are game enough but what’s the point, the pack only play 20 mins each half hold your hands up and go your job. We can’t make enough ground we’ve only one kicker atm rocky and he’s been left with charging defences and 70 yard kicks.
The attack is so predictable and I take on board your thoughts on Tom but he won’t get any space unless the pack create him some, most of the breaks last year from rocky, bill or Tom we’re off the cuff opportunism and not created. We play with split half’s one left one right, we go one side or the other but it’s so easy and slow the defence just need to stand their ground.
Defensively we are simply awful and our line defence hasn’t improved in years.
These players are capable of so much more than this, ive seen it and we’ve all seen it but at the moment we’re a million miles off.
Chester just looks like a depressed man to me, his recent comments of accusing players of moving out of the way and not trying and playing for their jobs a week after he said they were great just smacks of someone not willing to be accountable for his actions, not once as he said I know what’s wrong il change this.
I notice the Sam Williams comments on Here il say this unless issues are sorted he won’t make the slightest bit of difference, as we simply can’t get any field position.
Recruitment as been terrible buying players like gigot, Atkins, brough and others who are no better than we have. We need some forwards some grafters who are going to get us moving, I like josh wood he’s a full commitment give it all but what do you do with him he offers nothing going forward and his passing is loopy and slow but he can bang.
I have no faith in the people at the top to make the correct decisions so it will continue, why I have no idea

our coach is more interested in getting 30 odd year old props passing round the back instead of charging it up like they have all their lives

I think Carter will probably give Chester the first 6 or 7 games of next season and if we're still getting beat every week he'll be gone. I can understand the reluctance to sack him in the current climate with what's gone on and the fact there is no relegation but I've got to say I'm not confident we will have the personnel in the playing staff or the coaching to turn it around so drastically in a pre-season. I can but hope. Not sure what the market for players will be like either considering the economic enviornment. Be interesting to see what happens now until January.

What will keep happening, we will keep losing, Chester will blame everyone or everything but himself, the club will blame the supporters for not giving Chester a big enough budget to show his true coaching abilities and then if relegated at the end of next season both will leave and we will continue to support whatever they leave behind.

Which is why everybody’s worried

If we go 7,8,9 games next season and win 2 (which would be a huge improvement) we’ll be in major trouble!

Are we expecting a quality coach to be available mid season, even if there were are we expecting a repeat John Kears Lazarus act, are we also expecting the players that we will need to rebuild the team to be available during the season?

We should be acting now, or 3 months ago!

Adam think 6 or 7 games next season will be to late. By that time the cash will be spent and any new coach will have to use a squad bought by the present set up

Sorry Adam, I feel leaving it into next year it could stagnate further and only make matters worse.

We know Chester’s recent recruitment has left a lot to be desired, we could end up signing several players, then change coach, only for an incoming coach, not to like what he has to work with, and even if we did bring good players in, their skill and fitness levels may end up getting coached out of them.

We need to change things, and fast. Hasn’t he already offered his resignation on more than one occasion.

If I was MC right now, I’d be mulling over possible replacements than practicing his golf swing.

Sts were too fast in all areas and we had two fullbacks who want to be half backs playing.
There were some poor performers but we just gave ourselves too much to do.

Which part of the job would you say Chester is doing correctly pop tart. Overseeing the fitness of the team, preparing the team for a game, winning games, coaching a competitive team, attacking structure, a game plan, defensive structure, defending our own line, motivating the team, new ideas, recruitment, or maybe none of them, maybe knifing the players in the back and accusing them of moving out of the way or not trying or attitude problems. 5 out of 33 which part of the job is he doing right
