With his recent serious neck injury, that will have dropped his proce tag somewhat.
Even a £100k contract would probably be a lot for us, and next year, he'd be 33, it would be a huge gamble, and in all honesty, I couldn't see him taking a £300k cut.
Sadly, as much as a fairytale for them, and as its been widely documented that we have a huge dent in our budget, I just don't think we could afford to be too sentimental over this.
If we were spending that kind of money, personally, I think we'd be wiser spending it on a younger player.

Possibly not, but it all depends on what he can get over there, I suppose the new Dolphins franchise is a lifeline for players like him.
All I know is that he was coming and that was at a point where we pretty much knew we were facing a significant reduction. So there must have been the budget for it at some point, or a sponsor lined up.
That said, since then we have made three significant signings, so that will certainly have altered the dynamic.
As I say, signing AF is not a money thing it's a David thing, that was the reason we were in with a shout, now as you say that window has possibly closed. Shame because I think it might just have worked!

Reading this, I think those who still think AF nay come, need to give their head a shake. I've just read on the Fox website that his contract was worth around 800,000AUD. That's about £440k in our money
Another example of poor journalists just rounding up comments from here there and everywhere. That comment is at least 2 months old.

Can’t remember what thread it was on but more speculation in the papers this morning that Billy Magoulias has been offered to SL..
Announced by Cronulla that he has left the club, almost every comment on Instagram is from Sharks fans asking why Billy has been allowed to leave and he will be missed. Clearly a fan favourite, saw a few comments claiming Warrington were looking at him. They’ll have the quota spots as Inglis, Austin, Akauola and Mamo have all left with Clark still not confirmed for next year.
Josh Bowden (29) at 6ft 2 and 17 1/2 stone is still available, has got a few good years left in him with something to prove and probably won’t demand a big contract…. Just the type of player Trinity picked up in the past… eg Westerman.
