To be honest I never noticed it myself till the second half till most of the play was down there, then I had it pointed out to me, then it became glaringly obvious or not in this occasion
A wins a win as they say ,but they made hard work of it . Maybe nerves maybe not but we have to ramp up in all areas for next week and need that saints game mentality back .Apart from some defensive lapses I though we managed that side of the game pretty well ,but attack certainly needs lots of work .For me Walker is a ball playing loose forwards and a stand in half back who’s doing a decent job but Miller for me when fit every day of the week . Big dave and Lino got us on the front foot last night ,but that won’t cut it against tougher opponents , we need to be far more slicker and fluid in attack , as getting to the line isn’t a problem it’s creating the gaps ,overlaps that we are finding difficult.we’re off the mark and let’s hope with the pressure now off somewhat we can play that open attractive rugby that we’ve seen so far only in glimpses .
I agree re Walker, the lad has a lot of talent and looks ready made to be an old fashioned ball playing loose forward and there aren't many of those about! He's not bad at SO but lacks speed for that position full time (which I am sure is not his intended spot!)
For me the only players going forward to any degree were DF and Tj. Wish I could agree with some on here regarding their optimism. About ten of us in the little group where I stand were all of the same opinion, .........A very below par performance .No better than against Leeds really.
Think A lot better than Leeds a lot better showing in defence for a start . The thing is our last two games have been played in very bad weather. We held on to the ball very well for the condition We had three players coming back ,look at the difference in Lino compared to last week .Think on our budget we are doing ok Our trouble is we have not got the killer pass near the opponents line so things to work on A lot of one sided matches this week ,so just not us struggling with the weather And your talking teams with big buget
Pre assumption here going forward ,but if batch has a head knock and has the mandatory 11 days rule I’d like to put forwards Walker as the loose and let him have a run out in that position and see how he goes . For all those that have him as a half back , there are those ( myself included) that see him as a ball playing loose forward . His kicking game at times is sublime ,especially those chips over for Johnstone , great pair of hand ,skilful, a must have team member ,but from my armchair coaching position hasn’t that speed and nippy ness for want of a better word to trouble too many defences ,as was shown last night . Obviously the real coach will put him exactly where he wants or needs him and will do a sterling job for us of that there is no doubt .
I’m confused Batch and Whitbread both came back on as they past the test, so why would they miss a game? You might be right I just thought that only applies to a fail?

That’s my understanding too. If they passed to be able to go back on the pitch then there would be no issue.
I’ve watched Hall’s try on continuous loop, I can’t get enough of Johnstone’s amazing skill, just sublime - and credit to Corey Hall for being there in support. TJ really is a talent, I can only imagine he’s not in the England squad atm because Wayne already knows what a player he is. It was definitely darker in that corner - I know what I saw and lots of folk around us in the North Stand commented on it early on in the game.
I agree. For whatever reason, the corner of the pitch, nearest the old food outlet, was darker. Didn't really notice till halfway through the second half so, whether something changed or, whether it was like that all game, I dont know.
Maybe, it's just because the rest of the floodlights are so bright ?

They’re certainly an improvement on the old ones! Perhaps just need a bit of tweaking.
I tell you PT, you are definitely morphing into vasty. There was a time when you would both disagree as a matter of course, but now??? Either you are developing an "edge" or our friend vastman is mellowing. I think may be the latter. No offence to either party.
