Alf is key to this and JM should be keeping him happy. I imagine Matthew would listen to his dad at all opportunities seeing as though Alf built DIY and drove all of that "ahead of time" innovation in the production process.
Alf has retired for all intense and purposes, he has a £6m pound yacht on the med with a full time crew. Matt is running the company now and he is very wealthy in his own right. This is how I understand the situation.
How many years have we heard the comments of our directors saying that they don't have the money to compete with the owners of the big clubs. How many times have we heard there is no one out there willing to take on the club and if there was Michaeal Carter has said he is willing to sell it for a pound.
Then along comes a Barnsley lad, who went to school in Wakefield and now lives in the City. He is very wealthy and keen to take over and suddenly one of our directors seems very reluctant to let go. Michael Carter has done quite a few things wrong in his time in my opinion and most of that has been to do with the rugby side of things. In all fairness though he stepped in and put money into the club. I also feel he is more than happy for Matt Ellis to take over and this deal would have been done by now if he had sole control of the club.
I wish Matt Ellis would take over tomorrow because I feel our club is slowly going down the pan and needs fresh life and investment urgently.
