As I guessed but the main point is why, what can we do about it, if anything?

I'd suggest it's possibly too expensive to buy, and IF Newmarket for some reason comes off, we'd be left with a rather large and expensive plot of land, only guessing though, I've no inside info.

| If it is Newmarket and we are looking for the best stadium for the funding we'd have, we should have a word with Darlington council. I'm sure they would open to offers to take the Darlington Arena off their hands, apparently it used by a RU team with not even a couple off hundred fans using it. Get it moved over to Newmarket and either keep it as it is just swap some red seats for blue ones. Or to make more individual to us make the full length stand into safe standing all the football clubs are looking to do this and you'd have companies falling over themselves to provide it to us. One end as a away stand obviously keep main stand as it is with all the corporate acilities then the other end stand keep a few seats but make the rest of the stand classroom/education facilities, this will get capacity down to about 16/17k which is ample and could also be used for cc semis and internations etc. That's the Wakefield Community Stadium sorted over to you Sir Rodney!!!

It is unfortunately no longer owned by Darlington Council, Mowden Park RFC bought and now own the ground and freehold in 2012 and I understand it is not for sale.

It's a shame that just had a look on their website it would be interesting to know how much they paid for it. Anyway how's the meetings going, are we getting any closer to progress?

| Does this not put us in a very precarious position. The SuperBowl and car park appears to be openly up for sale. If Yorkcourt don't put their hands in their pockets and quick to aquire it and pass it on to the Stafium Trust then wouldnt blow the whole idea of a Belle Vue redevelopment completely away.

I don't get your point why should York Court put their hands in their pocket? Yes theyappear to have had some building done at Newmarket that would appear to have got around the terms if the deal. I don't see any evidence that they have done anything illegal so whtwhy should they have to buy suoerbiwl. I am not having a go but this is my take on it.

| If it were confirmed that NM is a dead duck and the preferred option is to re-develop BV - then WMDC should be arranging for WTW to have the car park and superbowl plot free of charge if they can do that.

According to the information I've seen, the Oasis and Superbowl business is for sale in its entirety - they're both owned by the same company; it includes 4 or 5 gyms and the same number of bowling alleys. The guide price for the Wakefield site was somewhere around the £1.5 million mark, as of about six months ago. So WMDC would have no power to gift it to the club or anyone else, since they don't own it.
I can see the whole site, including BV, being of interest to a property developer - although the location would make it a challenge, as the house prices will hardly be at a premium; snazzy new houses or not, it's still in Agbrigg.

The thing with the area being Agbrigg, cuts both ways and surely this would mean that the land would be cheaper than if it were 2 miles up the road in Sandal.
Still not good.though, as the Superbowl site would be needed within any application to re develop BV ?

| I cant see any stampede to build houses on BV any more so than the old power station site. Builders can easily push through more attractive sites now.

| On the casforum there is talk that the Newcold development is currebtly only half the size that that it will ultimately be, none of which will count towards the trigger point of the stadium. Is this correct? And if so how much of the available land is the damn thing taking up?
