Here is a little thought which may be a concern. Initially, the revamped North Stand was to have a capacity of 3500, with a stadium capacity of around 7,500. The North Stand will now have a much reduced capacity, therefore the stadium capacity will be nowhere near 7500. I’m not sure what the minimum capacity is for a Super League Stadium, but we may be pretty close to it. New East Stand 2500, North Stand probably around 1500, West Terrace 1000?. Perhaps the club will retain the temporary seats to make it up to 5500. Shame really, I was in the ground when we played Wigan in a cup tie, 28,500, attendance that day.
This sort of figure is not enough especially for future funding. We currently may not reach this often but surely this is the reason to redevelop the ground. I guess they have never seen the film Field of Dreams.
Just looking for issues. We all knew this wasn't just going to happen overnight.
The East Stand us the key to income streams and the North Stand will be steeper so a better view. I'm pretty certain we will not trouble the capacity for a while. We are on our way so let's see how it goes.

How many would you suggest??? Its blatently obvious that we would never fill a 10,000 capacity Belle Vue in the next few years, never mind a 12,000 one. You only have to look at Salford, Shudds, Hull FC, Wigan et al who are nowhere near ever filling their capacity.

As disappointing as it is that we are having to make this amendment (presumably due to rising costs) let's try and be realistic about the impact. North Stand was proposed to have a capacity of 3500. How much of that was in the top section and how much in the bottom? I don't know but my guess (looking at the original proposed plan for the North Stand) would be say a 1/3 bottom, 2/3 top split. So let's say for arguments sake, 1,200 in bottom section, 2,300 in top section. The bottom section capacity will not change. The top section will be reduced from 25 terraced steps to 16, so by approximately 1/3. This would give us maybe 1,500 now in top section. So overall capacity of North Stand goes from 3,500 to 2,700.
All guess work based on the drawings I know, but let's not assume the worst until we know.
If overall capacity goes from 7,500 to 6,700 then how many times a year do you think we'd sell out??? Not many

I dont think The North stand has ever been 3500 for many years, if ever. Right now its only 1500 but there are reasons for that. But to your main point, 6700 will give us a ground smaller than Fev or Cas. Cas exceed that figure every game and some games by at least a couple of thousand more. I think this year they got around 8000 for Catalan. If the club are happy with smaller gates and little ambition to grow, then I suppose we could make do. But in all honesty a team in Wakey should be looking to get gates as good as Cas. Finally if franchising comes back having such a small ground could impact our chances. The reason all this gets me miffed is that we have come such a long way from a brand new all purpose 12K stadium to a 6.7K bodge job. I think we know who are the small group of individuals responsible for cheating us out of that.

The capacity is a strange one. Before the issues over crush barriers etc, our capacity was well over 10k, iirc, there were around 12,000 at BV for a Leeds United v Liverpool reserves games many years ago. Notwithstanding the current restrictions, the ground is the same size as it was then and with a larger (in terms of capacity) main stand, after the improvements have taken place, surely, we must be closer to the 10k figure, than the circa 7K that there was recently ? 6700 seems a bit under the mark ?

I thought myself that 6700 seems very low. I’m sure it was 10k + and if the safety concerns have been satisfied after these works I see no reason we can’t be close to 10k again.

I'd certainly dispute the North stand figure. With the front terracing and the revised rear terracing I'd have thought it would hold upwards of 3500.
All dug out then, from seeing it last night. Wonder how long till concreate is being poured
I noticed that there was a guy in that area last night presumably to retrieve the balls from the touch finder penalties. Last game we had three balls stuck in that restricted area but didn't get any last night.
