Curious that Cas appear to have a similar deal to us in transition for around 12 million. Despite increase in costs they still have submitted planning for a stand that sounds similar to us but also a refurb of all 3 other stands and new 4G pitch.
Seems like 12 million might stretch a bit further that side of Wakefield. I’d assumed prices had recently increased as we are having to make savings and only effectively have a refurb of one stand and a new stand.
Even the most optimistic of Cas fans know this isn't happening any time soon, certainly not for £12m. Part of this is just putting on a show for IMG. Saying that, I hope in time we both end up with Grade A licenses because they're still my favourite fixture of the season.
Axiom are developing all that land down opposite x cape. I presume the majority of funding will come via 106 deals from there, so quite feasible I would have have thought

I wasn’t talking about the funding being secured. More commenting on that the funding seems to be stretching considerably far for 12 million if they were to fulfil the planning requests to build 1 new stand and refurb the other 3 sides plus pitch and lights.

I doubt it, or not in the short term. Why would Axiom be in a hurry in the current economic climate, and why would they pay top dollar. So it's not feasible in any reasonable time span IMHO.
Unless of course Cas and the Council suddenly find some leverage as we did with YC.

Cant argue with that, those plans sound like a stretch too far for that amount of money. They also need to do something about their micky mouse pitch and get it up to a reasonable size. They could do that if they demolished the railway end and built terracing further back.
Anyhow even if they are talking about £12m is quite a bit more than we got, in fact with an equal sum we could also have made a a right impact on the West Terrace

Is it? Who says they are getting it? Also 2 million of that will be the Council money, so in essence if they get get 10, million from Axiom and they won't, that's a 2.2 million difference, useful three years ago, now not so much.
Looking at the plans they are doing no more than we have done, on the plans the railway end looks exactly the same, whilst the main stand is smaller and narrower than ours, though I accept it's hard to tell from artists impressions. So it's not like for like IMHO, it's a lesser structure. The rest looks to be tissue and paint.
Lets be right here, there are no actual plans submitted as far as I can tell, when there is then we can seriously comment.
Note: If you were to get a quote for the East stand today, it would be 10, million, easily. We got a good deal from YC, but Covid then put that deal 2 years behind and the rest is history. Cas need a lot of luck to make this happen, and best of say I.
Good luck to Cas. As a rugby league fan, I want all clubs to look modern and vibrant and give an outward appearance of success. Wakey and Cas have been a hark back to the Eddie Waring era for too long and I'm glad at least we're on our to something more in keeping with today.
The only time stadiums became a thorny point was during the franchising years, when there was an assumption that it was between us and Cas for the chop. And think of how many years have passed since then.
For the last 2 years I've been working for a large independent builders merchant, initially to set up their electrical wholesale division, but things changed once the business decided to take a massive change in how they trade and now one of my main duties include maintaining and updating the computer systems/sales and stock database, yes for the last 12 months prices increased across the board by around 20% (biggest increases were in timber & cement) however the last couple of months has seen this trend halt and in a lot of instances turned around, timber has come down by around 15% and copper and steel 10%, it looks like this will continue as a lot of major projects have been halted and there is now becoming a surplus materials, causing cash flow issues within the sector. Trinity maybe able to afford a few upgrades in 6 months time As for cas, it's pie in the sky stuff, they won't get a penny out of Axiom
Axiom paying up or not is to be seen, but one thing is for sure - Carter/Minards/WT/Denise Jeffery have laid the groundwork for Cas/Axiom to proceed in a way that is unimaginable under the council's last leader.

So what you're saying FT, is that if we use wooden terracing with copper and steel barriers then we should be able to re-do the whole of the Western Terrace for £500...MC will love that
