As for cas, it's pie in the sky stuff, they won't get a penny out of Axiom

So what you're saying FT, is that if we use wooden terracing with copper and steel barriers then we should be able to re-do the whole of the Western Terrace for £500...MC will love that :D :D

£500??
MC would want it for £450 FIL!

The last bit is the vital bit for me.

I know for a fact that Trinity were getting nothing from YC until a series of lucky events took place. It was explained to me but I’ll be honest I didn’t totally get it then and I’ve forgotten now.

I do know that the 106 agreement was a very small part of the deal, you scratch my back was.

It’s hard to see at the moment how the Xscape site has the same immediate value as NM suddenly acquired.

Truths is we got the 8 million (a huge sum) despite NM and the 106 not because of it.

It took nearly 10 years for us to get to that point, Cas only started 2 years ago. I honestly wish them luck but this idea that they can lift 12 million from Axiom is a tragic delusion just as the idea that what we got from YC was a sell out. We were very lucky and very shrewd.

Well it seems Castleford are very optimistic, and I think it will happen for them.

You say that you think it will happen but, just how quickly could this actually happen and what has changed with the GH site.
There were companies pulling out of that development not rushing to sign up ?

The clock to the all NewSL is ticking and time is something that nobody has enough of.

Not really any need to build new outlets, there's plenty of empty ones about as it is.

The IMG scheme now appears not to require all singing dancing new stadiums as they carry little weighing in the criteria points weighing, although the recent statement from IMG was a bit ambiguous on this point, so until next February, we have to wait and see.

I wonder if that’s because certain “grade A” clubs don’t own their own grounds.

They can be as optimistic as they like, in fact they have no choice, but it won't happen, not in the next five years anyway.

Even if by some miracle it did, it will take them at least another 2-3 years to get spades into the ground.

Cas like ourselves were stiffed, and now it's in the lap of the gods. The only thing in their favour is at least they don't have Rodney Walker muddying the waters.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.

Re: Stadium and other issues : Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:20 pm
I know it’s not directly to do with trinity stadium but seems silly to set another thread up.

Salford council have just purchased the Salford stadium in a move that probably saves Salfords bacon. I think another club were wanting to buy it but likely would have meant Salford could have been looking for a new home. Council seem to have stepped in to protect Salfords future to a degree.

They will likely benefit from some low rent and some short term security at least. I suppose it will be interesting to see if there are extra scoring for owning your own stadia. I suppose if you own it then it’s the clubs asserts and adds value along with security.
