When we talk about individual players from the 60s many would be great in today's game.
Clearly Neil would be awesome, Brooke, Turner, Don Fox and Haigh to name but a few would be great.
It surprised me when talking to Ian Brooke and Ken Rollin about today's game and whether they'd enjoy it. They both agreed they would love to play in the modern game as the training and tactics have changed so much and would suit them. They also said if Don Fox was playing they'd be able to play at the age they are now as he could put them through a gap every time.
The point being, players can move eras, coaches and training methods not so much.
Even 5 years out of coaching can leave you well behind on tactics and training methods in the modern game.
