Re: Coral Stand : Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:11 pm
If we can get the east stand sorted it would be an absolute dream come true,

Either MC or JM (I forget who) gave a vision in the paper a few months ago on what they wanted for the east stand and it sounded amazing, a facility that can help increase our income and put that back in to the team spending more cap was how it was described

Anything after that it a bonus for me

Having used the cooperate facility in the flats on many occasions, while they do look a little odd they are very functional and IMO are in great condition (can’t comment on this structuraly) they give a fantastic match day experience, I would leave them until an alternative replacement could be financed

I would love to see something done with the west terraces though
They really are awful and are the main thing letting our ground down

The northstand is such a masssive area
There is a large section of shrubs at the back too
It’s a vast space that am sure would have many possibilities

Again though
It’s very functional and gives cover from the elements of the day comes when we can replace this fantastic
If not I’ll continue to enjoy standing under there

Ultimately it’s about what we can afford to have one stand sorted would make me a very happy fan
If it could be two sides I’d be overjoyed

Running costs pretty high profits can be decent but needs some work and strong footfall. The bigger new stadiums are providing more choice no reason for others not to break the mold and offer something different McD's provides more than burgers but its a standard menu nationwide, being different can be good he who dares Rodders!!!

I get your point but we are a small club with limited finances and expertise, with McDonalds/other franchise you do get a tried and tested business model, a known quantity, and a reasonably guaranteed but above all regular income. If we had a board member who was savvy regarding catering I'd be keener but as far as I know, we haven't.

It's all speculative anyway and probably a million miles from the actual plan the club has.

I don't see how a McD's would work, even if it were a realistic possibility; where would it's revenue come from on non-matchdays, which are most days of the year?

Artisan, street food is where it's at - usually done in pop-up environments, so the infrastructure costs are minimal; there's bloody loads of em now - and the quality is often very high. We could be the only RL ground in the UK not serving god-awful poop that passes as food on matchdays - and when there is no business, the vendors could go elsewhere.

Thank you Dragons, I'm happy to take your questions.

Think you've misunderstood my idea. Yes, your idea would work but its not the constant use of the site we now own like mine is.

The building/drive-through would be in the car park with a link to the stand. Otherwise its at the side of the main road like all the other McD drive-throughs. I'm not on about an McD's inside the stand, I'm on about an actual McD's being run as an actual 24/7 business using part of our car park Roughly where that club shop was a few years back. It's a busy main rd with a lot of passing trade, that will give an all year round income, as you see at a number of grounds with an attached retail park. Obviously, we only have room for one modest outlet (see the one at the Snowhill retail park) but it feasible.

Forgive my crude attempt at a mock-up :D

yes just thinking what distance is from the try line to stadium perimeter wall at the rear of northstand serious room for quality stand

The McDonald's drive through idea is interesting but I'm not sure there is actually room.
They wouldn't let it spill out on to the road so would need a whole perimeter driveway like Snow Hill has.

I think it also detracts from the front door image. I like the idea of it looking like Hull KR or Widnes when you drive up.

Yes, flatten the north end to pitch level and have a covered standing end with rooms, outlets etc under it, perhaps including the public medical and community facilities that someone has previously alluded to. But for me this has to be the final element, as I'm quite happy to stand under cover at the North end with better 'facilities' that can be accessed elsewhere in the ground.

What about having a Greggs facility. I hear they cater for all tastes,
