It's not called cheating as such, it's called playing the system, as an accountant Mr Carter will know all the ins and outs of this and I'm quite sure that if we had the financial muscle some of these clubs have we would be doing the same, shameful as they are it's all quite legal if immoral I'm afraid, if you want to blame anybody then blame the governments' that allow it.

Amazing how many people get morality and legality mixed up. Should be obvious really, you want legal advice you see a Lawyer, you want moral advice you see a Vicar, two very different types of people.

That’s not either of the french clubs faults though is it , I seriously doubt we’d be complaining in the same position , as is any sport run on a level basis Where money is involved , we are no different as a sport . Where would football be without the Oligarchs and oil sheiks pumping untold wealth into the game , bankrupt . We have a fantastic owner who although not as wealthy as some you mention , with shrewd signings and open attractive rugby I’m sure the stay always will drift back in time . For me it’s all about results on the field as so many people I talk to who have either packed in or stay away are fed up with the yo-yo performances , get some consistency back into our game and I’m sure people will drift back to the club. But to be blaming all our woes in RL on the french clubs is some way off the mark IMO.

Kettykat 2 sports that are run on a level playing field and make big money,are American Football,and Australian R L shows it can be done

I’m not disagreeing with you alegend , but we’ve had over 100 years to get our act together as a sport, and probably like the northern towns and city’s our game is played , we are suffering and can’t see a magic wand wafting along anytime soon to sort it . We can all moan and complain about the game , but the simple facts are we have a great product , we just need more bums on seats of the paying kind , how we achieve on our part is by shouting from the rooftops to anyone and everyone to get down and see a game , my son and grandkids have and they are hooked and both grandsons even play the game now and prefer it to playing football on a weekend.

I don't know why it's even a moral issue, certainly not a legal one.
Why can't clubs have a major sponsor/owner putting money into their club.
Have a missed something?

Nfl is no different to us.

Broncos spend $30 million dollars more than the Eagles. Both are in a Salary cap sport.

Here's a supposition for you, supposing the club owed you a fair amount of money and Mr Carter used all the legal loopholes available to thwart your attempt at getting it back and believe me there are plenty even if it was a miniscule amount to the club, and despite your solicitor vain attempt and was unable to help because of the laws put in place, it's all legal but surely morally wrong, not sure if it's relevant anymore as my initial post was in the context of legends post only.
