Thanks for this... I work in an environment where we are constantly seeking feedback to create improvement... vasty... pop tart... it was never meant to be an attack... or having a go at interviewing ability...it was just feedback! And I’m sure that you guys will have learned much about time lag when interviewing...

The interview WAS very good ... the previous two have been excellent ... all I’m saying is that ‘some’ natural progression was lost... and it’s an opportunity to improve.

04.30 chats (lol) welcome to my world!

I would just say feedback is good but should be given directly.
If you put it on the forum without context it then ends up being a discussion about the one minor thing rather than all the good things.

I think this deserves support. I'm really impressed both how they've set it up and who they have got on the podcast. I'm sure there are things they'll change as they go along but fundamentally I think this is a massive thing, which keeps in with Willie's philosophy of understanding the club and its history, it keeps ex players involved and must give them a boost to be recognised and to be honest is just entertaining from my point of view.

The more platforms that wakefield are on the better for fans and club alike ,and keeps you interested out of season or when there are no games to watch . I may be old school but I think listening to passionate people even without the visuals who have a story to tell about our club is fantastic ,and also by going right back into our history ,which obviously takes some digging to gets facts and stories correct but the end product is well worth the effort ,and something IMO is adding another layer of professionalism to the club.

The world sure has changed. He’s a bit before my time but I believe he played for England at RU?

Can you imagine any RL club now let alone Trinity signing such a relatively high profile player today, the money would be astronomical! Yet at the time I suppose the only major point of interest other than ability was that he was English rather than Welsh.

I imagine fans were happy when he signed but I’m guessing it wasn’t the huge deal it would be today not that I could tell you who his modern day equivalent is.

In a short space of time we signed both Lampy and Keith Smith who were England RU internationals

Heritage have announced on Facebook the next podcast is with Brian Juliffe. Played in same team as Lampi so I'm guessing your era Spooky.

Also a union recruit but from Wales this time. Great player.

Yes I remember BJ signing and his debut at home vs Castleford .... along with a couple of other welsh trialists from a series of trials... another interesting character signed a few weeks later Alan McCurrie from Whitehaven

Ps was also about this time I was playing in the inaugural Wakefield College team... alongside such as Neil Kelly and Adrian Plummer who both later played with Trinity and Dewsbury

Adrian Barwood was the other winger and Steve Diamond the centre. Diamond had a pretty long and successful stint at Trin including being a competent goalkicker.
