Could have -should have -would have if they had showed more composure ,one that definitely got away from us today .Hopefully we will learn from these ,at times school boy errors and learn to build pressure without letting the opposition off the hook far too easy for my liking .20+ mins with 12 men should have been enough for us to kill the game off ,but we lacked that killer instinct when needed .

We've been saying about building pressure for seasons. I thought we did well today defensively but ultimately it was the errors and execution in the Hull twenty that meant the game was lost. Miller's attacking kicks weren't up to much today either. Was surprised Gaskell wasn't the one doing the majority of the in-play kicking. We've got one of the best aerial threats in the league in Toma nd we never want to actually give him a decent chance of attacking one.

Good dig from the forwards today as my worry was we'd get bullied down the middle. Corey Hall will become a quality player for us. Hooker still a bit of a conundrum. Overall a decent performance but a shame we didn't make the scoreline reflect our territorial advantage.

Yep...sums it up for me but don't forget we were down to 12 as well when Gaskell went off as we had used up all our interchanges :thumb:
Let's hope Lino is fit for next week, but if not, then it looks like Walker will get his chance ??

Speaking to Lino before he said he is hoping to be back in 2 weeks.

It was a very Chesteresq performance for large spells and we lacked creativity from our structured plays.

End of the day 2 very poor defensive efforts from Tanginoa and Lineham cost us the points.

Some very frustrating plays particularly whilst being camped on the Hull line and totally relieving any pressure we were building.

Wasted way too many chances when we were in an attacking position and panicked too much after the red card.

Positives: Hall played really well, as did Batch. Dave a handful as always.
Key was very active in the second half.
We seemed very fit too, so really big hits in the last quarter.

Negatives: Not taking the 2 on at least 4 occasions. Every single top team do that.
Really missed Lino.
Poor metres gained from penalties.

Should add, Hull defended very well.

Should also add, we are becoming too much like football. I have never seen so many players get cramp at the same time in my life. That needs cleaning up in our game.

Given the conditions I am surprised both teams declined the two on a number of occasions. On the one hand it showed confidence but those four kickable penalties could've turned the match into a win

Couldn't make the game so can't comment on personal performances or match specifics but from what I've seen on the Twitter feed, it was the typical Wakefield way of falling behind by a few tries and trying to make a dramatic last 10 minute comeback.

Hoping to see the match highlights or report soon.

Any injuries btw?

Gaskell looks to have a upper limb injury, looked like a dislocated shoulder by how he was holding his arm. Could be wrong

My thoughts exactly. We tried two or three times to run the ball after penalties near the Hull line but we never seem to learn,

We should have learnt from last season the folly of not going for the two points. At least four penalties, all in kickable positions, in the first half. Just three successful attempts would have won that game for us.
I like the look of young Hall. I can see him becoming quite an asset in the future. We still seem to be lacking in attacking ideas when near the opposition line. The umpteenth coach in the last twenty-odd years yet we still can't improve this aspect of the game. Our own silly fault that we let this one slip away.

Ex Trinity players generally lift their game when they come back to face us. Our ex Hull players were the worst of our bunch today.
