Jordan is a great lad and totally committed when he plays and always was as a junior. A squad of 13 JCs would now have some points on the table. Shedding Batch, Aydin, Hall and Murphy ( plus Miller, Fifita, Arona, Toupou, Johnstone) is a hard pill to swallow. Ripping the guts from the team has ripped the guts from fans. Heart and commitment often improve a player’s contribution and fan’s perception and enjoyment. Watching a team give 100% is all we can ask. If ever there was a moment to trash your legacy, this is it. This is a mess to put it mildly.

Absolutely and even with those players, we finished 10th, something we wont manage this season. Our aspirations now are not to be nilled and to hope that another club goes bust.

Why try and rewrite what happened? The only one you could possibly say we 'shed' is Hall. Fifita, Arona and Tupou retired. Johnson and Murphy went to bigger clubs for bigger offers. Batch wanted to go to further his career. He'd already made that clear the year before by only accepting a 1 year contract. Ayden followed him on agent advice.
Possibly, we could have retained Miller but I didn't see that many arguing at the time.
And I absolutely love Crowther's commitment and energy on the field but to say 13 of him would have points shows you are just writing words for the sake of it. He has no real attack so we'd have no points unless we drew them all 0-0. If you'd said the current team having his heart....then I might agree.

You're missing the point re. those players who have left, and all the others' over the last 4 years, players leave clubs obviously for differing reasons. The point is, who we have replaced them with. Since 2019 we have signed roughly 35 to 40 new players, without loanees. I reckon we've had about 10 if we are lucky who have actually been decent. MC misses the point when he says, i'm not gonna spend money we don't have, I agree, I don't want us to bankrupt ourselves. The point is, the money we have spent has generally been wasted, we had no money in 2017 & '18, but spent wisely on players like Grix, England, Finn, BJB etc.
As re. Crowther, I echo a lot that's been said, he's whole hearted and committed, but he's nearly been playing for 10 years, and I don't think he's progressed, his game hasn't developed, but in his defence, he probably hasn't played week in week out enough, and he hasn't had great coaching......
I suppose the problem if you are sycophantic, your judgment becomes clouded, that and distorted vision from rose tinted specs and seemingly towing the party line. Decisions are made where to spend the money, you want someone to stay or you don’t and the same goes the players way. In simple terms, would better offers to some departed have been better spent than the cost of Proctor and Atoni for example? One with an NRL issue and one unknown. Then there’s the loanee scenario. Sticking plaster management. If a coach jumps ship mid season, there is something rancid, what could that be? We seem to be hoping problems elsewhere will solve our issues, can’t see that happening. As a fan, an escape route would be brilliant but it just seems the trap door is already open and we are on the edge like lemmings.

He got a better job offer, why does it have to be anything but? What would you do given the same scenario?

I don't disagree. But that's not what Manuel said. He implied the club she'd these players in purpose. The replacements have not been good enough unfortunately
And Manuel......haven't you been campaigning for a change of coaching team? Why now argue how terrible it is for Wakefield to ask him to go early if he is leaving anyway?
Seems to me you are just arguing the negative no matter what the scenario is.
Take it you mean with last line ,a new coach.Hope you are right .This Dads army squad is a disgrace .Get some speed and youth in the team big time
We need youth and experience , not the holiday makers we’ve ended up with of course but experience nether the less . Players who can hold a lead and dig in when it gets tough and show the youngsters how to go on and nurture them . Listened to a funny chat with Matty English at Hudds when he asked Danny Brough for some advise on his game play , only to be rounded on by Brough who told him in no uncertain terms to eff off you fat bar steward, charming ,nothing like passing your experience on to the youngsters
