Talking of those two one came to us as a basket case and still is and the other was a fringe player at Catalan, those are the sort of players we will be looking at. We have a reputaion for spotting the best of the rest and turning them into somebodies and that for now is how we must continue. It's sad and a bit hurtfull but that is where we are and even a re-brand won't alter that for now.

Towards the end of the season in a post match press conference, I think during the Super 8's, didn't Chris Chester say something along the lines of if we employ the same kind of people, we make the same kind of mistakes.?

Isn't this the kind of thing what we are on about, and if the club want to progress, we need to try to move away from some of these type of players.

Yes but he's talking about personalities not how expensive or high profile they are. There are plenty of bargains out there you just need the nous to spot them - JK is OK at that though not the genius he's sometimes made out to be. Combined with CC and a now far cannier chairman we should unearth a few. It's not about big names and big salaries it's about players who fit - no good having a superstar in your pack if the rest are just average because what will happen is that thyy will look at the superstar and say you get the mega bucks you do the work, it's what always happens.

I really can't expalin it further, this just isn't currently the right kind of club to be signing the Grahams of this worl even if we had the cash.

I applaud your ambition I really do but one step at a time - we ere utter crap in 2014/2015 and only played well for a spell in 2016, you can't go fro zero to hero that quickly, not on our budget.

Was thinking today about how far we've come in a few years.
At one point about 3 years ago, we were talking about Mark Offerdahl and Mark Mexico as decent signings.
We've come a long way in three years and have to agree Vasty, not quite James Graham far!
A steady build and improvement over the next few years is the best we can hope for until the ground situation is sorted.
Think some people need to stop painting with the windows shut, it makes your mind do strange things! :D

A rumour which came from here, and a Cas fan at that.

It may well be a load of rubbish but would fit in with Rick Stone having a clear out of the Giants squad...Huby doesn't appear to have been a good signing for them 2 years into a 4 year deal......we'll see what develops as CC said there would be a couple of signings announced this week...

" I CAN ACCEPT FAILURE, BUT I WON'T ACCEPT NOT TRYING " - Michael Jordan

Re: Five New Signings : Fri Nov 25, 2016 12:31 pm
I think we can expect the announcements of Mitch Allgood and Ben Harrison in the very near future.
Both good additions and the "no nonsense" type of players we need.

Personally I think the Andrew Fifita rumour is just a publicity stunt and he will stay in Australia and had no intentions of even coming to Super League, let alone Wakefield. .

With front rowers of;
David Fifita, Anthony England, Keegan Hirst, Mitch Allgood, Anthony Walker, Tinirau Arona, Chris Annakin, Jordan Crowther?, & Frazer Morris.
Ben Harrison is a loose I believe, but is certainly a big lad so will add impact there.

I still think we need another experience prop - hopefully Craig Huby.

Rumours that Anthony Tupou is now back in Wakefield - although interest from Newcastle Knights - which may put the Dale Ferguson rumour bed.
Can only see Fergie coming if Tupou left.

Wouldn't the Allgood deal only come off if Tupou went though?

If I were marking your work I'd have to give a six out of ten for that. Some glaring errors I'm afraid.

Anakin and Crowther are second rowers.

Ben Harrison is primarily a prop these days, occasionally a SR but as far as I'm aware not a L/F anymore. I know what it says on Wiki but if you read it his preferred position is Prop which at 28 seems logical.

The Ferguson signing has nothing to do with Tupou leaving it's Allgood who needs the quota spot.

You're probably right about Andrew Fifita.
