It's a shame you've had such a bad experience that it's put you off ever returning. If you were to beat us Thursday if I were a wakey fan I would hate to miss out on such occasions. I've had bad times at Hull KR and Headingley , assaulted, but not tarnished the whole lot and just took it as isolated incidents. I wouldn't say it is the friendliest places to watch rugby but it's one of the best, especially if your team is winning, something the tv and armchair can't replicate.
There will, as always, be plenty of Trinity fans there on Thursday.
Wheldon Road has always been an intimidating ground for away fans.
The atmosphere is usually very good but, some of the stuff that goes on afterwards, usually started by drunken folk outside the boot room, in unsavory.
Things have been better recently, probably due to the Early Bath and the other pub closer to the town centre now being shut down but, let's not pretend that it's the nicest place to come.
Totally agree about the "armchair fan" comments though and it's a crying shame that our sport is so heavily influenced by the needs of Sky, with very little thought given to the actual supporters of the game.
We are now only used as "window dressing" but, in reality, it is becoming more and more difficult for fans to get to every game.
