Didn't get to the game last night but I have to admit that I have been disappointed with Pauli so far...for his size he should be smashing tacklers out of the way like Big Dave does.

My question would be after the last 2 games both of which you could argue were against better opposition? Are we struggling with impact off the bench???

Both games we have gone in at HT with slender leads only to struggle through the second 40 mins, IMO as soon as England or Big Dave get changed we don’t look as organized or compact. It starts to get a little ragged, big Dave was a blow to loose. England did 33 mins which again big minutes, PP came on big hit on him from BMM and then went into hiding. Do we need to mix it up? James Batch was great last season Arundel? I’m not knocking anyone, I just feel the spark has disappeared from second half performances over last 2 games.

Very entertaining game with good contributions from both sides and some good tries scored. The best Warrington performance this season by a country mile and shows Wakey a lot of respect that we were apprehensive until pretty much the end with the pace in your side and your start to the season.

Wakey have a good side and I hope you do well for the rest of the season. Hope Bish is ok, it looked like one of those innocuous things that can sometimes be problematic

I'm glad everybody's mentioning what's wrong this season I've thought from the second game. It does look like Finn needs a rest He's even missed a couple of penalty kicks to touch & his gking hasn't been up to much But to be fair most of them have been from the touchline we cant seem to score (Not much anyway) anywhere else. Why are we not giving ourselves a chance on the "up & under" nobody is following them up. Topou although a great player seems to be ignoring Johnston on the wing He's rarely getting a pass. With all the promise of Pauli he does seem to be a one trick pony the difference between him & BMM is huge. Bishop is having problems on the wing does he want to be a centre? cause he's playing there more often than not. CC has some sorting out to do 20 mins into the second half the forwards were on there knees I know it's only round six but others are catching up fast & we have some tough games ahead & now we are in danger of falling behind

Pauli's a hard one for me, do we continue to play him because we knew he wouldn't be 100% up to game speed when he came over after Christmas, so he missed a fair bit of preseason and then add in the injury he was recovering from. But then again at the moment, although his average gain is about the same as England's, but compared to England he isn't doing enough minutes and his work rate is nowhere near high enough. Do we even play him in a few reserve games when they come along to get more minutes into his legs?
I personally thought we were seeing slight improvements in the first few games but he hasn't really kicked on & turned into the player we thought atm and probably his teammates thought as well, after listening t the likes of Fifita and Wood speak about him before the season.
CC must be able to see all his stats, as well as that technology they wear on their shirts so he'll be able to assess him better.Hopefully, Pauli can really work on his fitness because for me it's that which is stopping be the player I've watched before. Maybe that's why CC was talking about turning him to a back rower, to get his fitness higher. With Fitness he should have the impact of someone like BMM has when he pays well, which Tbh until this game he'd been very average for Wire.

It's not just Pauli for me either, Huby and Hirst aren't hitting their form from last year. Both their AG is under 6 compared to well over 7 last year. I know that doesn't tell you the full story but when you look at tackle busts and other stuff it gives you an idea. just like when you compare the forward stats from 2016 to last season, they were far better especially the meters we were making as a pack. Even Arona is 2 meters down a carry. I know the weather with the pitch being so heavy which hasn't helped big forwards get going and driving but other forwards have been doing it.

Agree with that. Last season the bench was a big deciding factor in a number of games we won, thus no matter who was on the pitch the performance level apart from the odd game didn't drop. The bench doesn't seem to be as effective so far, especially these last couple of games and even before that.
Agree about getting Batch in there, he can take over the goal-kicking duties as well. :) CC will know better than me but maybe get Hooley or Jowitt back in at FB for a couple of games, along with letting MCB in for BJB to maybe freshen things up and also jeep players on their toes.

Anyway thinking about the game some more, yes we lost & I was a bit dirty afterwards because we played some good stuff, scored some nice tries and went there to win but that start to the 2nd half and the soft tries, especially Lineman's 2 tries that were exactly the same that we should have dealt with, ruined for me what was a good game against 2 well-matched teams, who both went to play the game the right way.
Good to read so many compliments on the Wire board about our team and the way we played in general. Hopefully we can get them back at our place.

Can anyone remember the last time a ref gave a penalty for a ball carrier leading with the knee? I can't. We really do seem to cop some bizarre calls sometimes.

Agree 100% kicking game was poor majority of game yet again no urgency in kick chase and for me something needs to change in the halves for me. We look clueless near the opposition line

Finn's in play kicking hasn't been great for ages. Same high bomb that is always far too deep and down the throat of a winger or fullback without any of our players able to challenge for it. It's boring. Wish we'd sometimes try a chip or a kick that finds the floor.
