I must admit I have to agree with a lot of posts on here about the fickleness of fans and the switching of allegiances with the fluctuations of the individual clubs fortunes. Hell fire I even agree wit Vasty.
My own experience that was from age 11 to 15 I watched any rugby league game I could get to be it Wakey, Cas, or Fev and thats where all my paper round money went. I didn't have a favourite but Wakey were top dogs at the time and they were probably the first team I could name from 1 to 13. Looking back there were very few club colours and i didn't have any and never gave a thought to where I would stand when I got to a ground. I can't even remember taking much notice of the appearance of grounds I visited and I doubt if youngsters today do. It came to a head as I left school and started playing myself so had less time to watch games. The Hardisty Hepworth era had just started and with only enough time?funds to watch one game a week it became Cas and thats how its stayed We can debate forever how to get more people to games but despite all the defections I bet most of you on here have always been Trin fans. Throw money at getting kids down and give them a great first experience (not always possible with weather, etc). Cas do a debutants scheme where kids attending for the first time among other things get to meet all the players and are given a tour before being announced to the growd and doing a walking lap of honour and receiving applause before the game.
All I'm trying to say is concentrate efforts into getting kids to Belle Vue, giving them a great experience and hope 50% become fans for life
