I am glad the subject of our purported head of Fitness conditioning is being discussed. I would also like to add that I agree with other posters who have pointed out that this club had the fittest team ever under Jeff Evans. If we were about level at half time with any team you knew for certain the game was ours in the second half.
Now back to the present. It is my understanding that fitness conditioning and sports science in general has moved on to levels that were never even considered back in the 80's and 90's. Usually people who now make a living it that field are highly trained and have a solid educational background to degree level at least. It is now recognised as a genuine science in its own right.
It is also my understanding that the man who is in this position at our club turned up on the doorstep one day selling mobile phones. Agar saw him and as a favour to an old mate he never sold a phone but walked out of the club with a new job as a conditioner. Other than being a mate of Agar I am not sure what qualifications he has in respect of the job. Again I am only a supporter but the team dosn't look that fit to me, certainly no where near the standard under Evans. I also watch all the other teams on sky and many of those seem miles in front of us in fitness and intensity. Hopefully when we get a new coach the bloke will be given someone new on the conditioning side to help him
