Great listening to BJ but also quite sad... his reminiscing about John Burke Keith Smith and Toppo ... that he was pushed out at Wakey and never really wanted to leave ... and the ins and outs of the conveyor belt from South Wales to Rugby League


Was also amused by the huge holes in his memory (comes to all of us) but particularly the QF loss to Halifax the year after Wembley... a game I wish would disappear from my memory also!

Just listened. Was really good. For someone who started watching in the 70s it was really good to listen to him talk about those days.
I always felt as a kid it was wring to let him go, as was proved by how well he went at Wigan and Halifax.

Wonder why Welsh players always come across so much more naturally than their northern counterparts, it’s as if they are media trained from birth!

You've got to think he's 70 years old too.
Doing a live podcast like this must be a bit nervy for anyone for the first time. When he played you pretty much got an interview if you were at Wembley.

He came across really well. He was one of my favourite players. I think he would have gone well in the modern game.
