| Ive not played the game but i would have thought it.s mainly Knees and elbows that would suffer the most ( could be wrong ) Cant the players wear something like the skateboarders wear that should look after the most vulnerable bits, or would that impede their ability, Is that to simple a solution,or would it not work.

| Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"Spending some money on =#FF0000regular watering, putting quality grass seed down, regularly feeding the pitch with the correct type of feed, hiring a plugging machine to help the soil breath and aid drainage would have fixed all of the so called problems with the pitch. These were all things that we’ve managed to do no matter what the financial position the clubs been in, that is until Carter took the decision to starve Steve Dutton of the money he needed to do his job properly.
Stupid, short sighted and a typically bloody minded, bigoted decision'"
Thank you Alan Titchmarsh......

| When Widnes first laid their pitch I remember a few months of complaints about skinned knees and elbows but now no one mentions it all. It baffles me why a hybrid pitch would cause any additional problems beyond a fully plastic pitch.

| This was not the proposed surface therefore is the alternative another sign of fiscal prudence because if so it appears to have once again made the club an embarrassment both on and off the field. I know some of you are in denial but we have always had an excellent playing surface but unfortunately it could not survive the financial restraints placed on it by our Chairman at the time.
With regards the comments of the Huddersfield coach maybe we could suggest a reversal of the fixture to take place at their ground. This would avoid them missing another fixture which appears to be his main concern, oh wait they can’t because the football team have a match on Saturday. This is a problem for all clubs sharing facilities during the football season coupled with work the football club need on the playing surface in their off season. I think it was Wigan who had to play a stretch of matches away whilst the pitch was reseeded.

Featherstone have offered their ground (likely at a cost but so be it). That I guess sorts an alternative if needed.
What do you mean not the proposed pitch? I thought the club were given options that were all viable for pro sports but had different hours of accessibility attached.

Friday’s Betfred Super League fixture between Wakefield Trinity and Huddersfield Giants will go ahead as scheduled. The playing surface at the Be Well Support Stadium was inspected today (Wednesday), and the clubs have agreed that the match should go ahead. Monitoring of the surface will continue over the coming weeks.

No the pitch we have now is not the one originally proposed which I believe was entirely synthetic.

So, Huddersfield are now happy with the pitch, what a bunch of hypocrites, and whoever wrote the piece below didn’t notice the word planned instead of passed.
Wakefield Trinity's match against Huddersfield Giants on Friday night will go ahead as planned after the club's pitch passed an inspection.
Rugby Football League officials were in attendance on Wednesday to conduct an inspect on the pitch, following complaints from Catalans Dragons over the quality of it which left several of their players needing antibiotics following cuts to their knees.
But Rugby League Live has been told the game will go ahead, and the pitch has planned the inspection on Wednesday lunchtime. Both Trinity and Huddersfield were satisfied over the pitch, allaying any fears about it being cancelled, postponed or rearranged

That was a long time ago though. When planning was being done it was a hybrid pitch.

| Well after this game on Friday, we have a couple of Away games so it should get time to recover. Don't know what the clubs plans are but may be a good idea to try and avoid training and reserve/junior games also. I am sure if we can get into spring and just take it steady with use it will be OK.
