From the North Stand photo, it would appear that all the new concrete steps are in place, just needs the crush barriers fitting and jobs a good un. :D

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the seating in the front of the new stand going to be covered? has that been discussed before? have I missed something?

No, MC in a recent interview confirmed no covering over the seats, just as last season. He did explain why and apologised. If rain is expected on match day, then those satin the seats will be offered plastic ponchos. I have also heard that the A & B sections of the new stand will hopefully have seats fitted and a section of roof in place by the end of April. Obviously that will depend on getting a safety certificate for that section. Lets hope so.

You’ve missed quite a lot. It was never going to be covered and JM has confirmed that numerous times, sorry. It can’t be done because it blocks the view from the middle stories.

It’s hoped that ST holders may be able to move into a section of the east stand around end a of April. But that’s the hope not a certainty.

Do you mean the East stand, if so then yes the will, the roof will be installed once the concrete terracing goes in otherwise it would impact the crane lifting the section into place.

Still feel like we are cutting a lot of space out of the back of the north stand, I know this has been explained before but still feels like a lot of wasted space

Thanks Khlav - yes I was talking about the new east stand - for those who have commented earlier - sorry I didn't make that clear. Once that's on then it will make a very imposing stand!

In what way?

I’ll try and explain as best I can.

1. The terracing will now be correct to modern standards. Hence it has higher risers a lesser tread depth. This means it’s far steeper to give great viewing angles. However if it went any further back the roof would need replacing it’s that simple.

2. It’s only wasted space if you can fill it and this is the lack of realism amongst Trinity fans. Shorter though the new terrace is it actually holds more people because it’s modern and that’s the key word. We have not filled that stand since the 2006 million pound game not even close. I think fans who stand in the middle think it’s full but it was never anywhere near.

3. That space can be developed if it’s ever needed and it will be a fantastic day if it were because we’d be averaging over 8000 per game. But we need to because it will be expensive, most notably a new roof. You are talking a few million.

4. The old north stand was utter crap, always was even before it started to crumble. Once you experience it you’ll realise what an incredible upgrade it is.

Be patient, Rome was not built in a day and neither will BV be. But the start has finally been made after doing nothing for sixty years.

Unused space rather than wasted then.
