It's not my strategy - I don't like the situation any more than you do I imagine. But, be realistic.
It's not lack of ambition it's pragmatism. We are probably the poorest, financially, club in SL by a long way. We have a small squad of players, mainly who are not wanted by other SL clubs - if they were any good, they wouldn't be playing for us. BUT, it's better to be in SL than out of it. If Webster can marshal resources to keep us in SL that's surely a good thing. I don't know who'll come along next season and put money in to the club and neither do you but, until said sugar daddy comes along, I'd rather be in SL than the Champs. In the meantime it seems to be a case of losing some battles in order to win the war. What else do you suggest?
Fair assessment of our present situation.
Just watched Cas's forwards bully HKR.
Lynch, Millington and Massey laid the platform for Wheeldon, Jewitt and Boyle to keep the pressure on.
This is Websters problem, we have lost our equivalent of the first three and are expecting Simon, D.Smith and Scruton to play longer minutes than was planned for them.
If Cas had Wheeldon, Jewitt and Boyle in their starting 13, they would struggle but not obviously as bad as us at the moment!
