The thing is, the club can't decide where we will play next year because we don't own, or have a binding contract to use, a suitable stadium.

They can negotiate deals and have preferred options, but even if/when they get something which they find acceptable, the RFL has the final say on sanctioning games.
I guess the RFL are fast losing patience with our plight.

MC won't announce anything until it's confirmed.

We will be playing somewhere next season and I wouldn't put money on it not being BV.

As i mentioned in the earlier post, there is a load of stuff going on regarding new grounds etc but, do you really think that MC doesnt know where we will be playing in 8 weeks time (or sooner).
This close to the start of the new season, we must have a plan A, which one assumes is still BV ??

Even the RFL wouldn't allow a club to go into the new season without a ground and with fixtures already published, a late deal to ground share would be pretty difficult to accommodate.

Agreed. The most likely scenario is that we have agreed terms with Manni for next year and we're waiting for the green light from the RFL. Hence the couple of slip-up from Chezzy.
The question from the RFL will be, "but what about 2019 and after?"
BV still doesn't meet minimum SL requirements and it's costing us in reduced central funding.
If the RFL allow it again this year, it may well come with an ultimatum and deadline for a long-term solution, especially if licensing is coming back.
Hopefully, the club can make an announcement before Christmas.

MC never actually says anything much - he's a poker player no doubt. However there will be a plan B of sorts but what that is I have no idea.

Really hate the lack of urgency from the council. Box said the right things a few month ago now got away Scott free. The recent statement from the council had no urgency what so ever and was whining on about still a long way to go. It shouldn't be a long way to go more developments, tradfic lights etc force there bloody hand council or screw there planning up. Bet Carter is tearing his hair out.

Latest:

Wakefield Council met with the owner of Belle Vue, Manni Hussain, to move forward the proposal for the new Community Stadium. As a result of this discussion a meeting has now taken place with the owner of Wakefield Trinity (Monday 18 December).

Following a positive meeting between 88M Property Group, and Wakefield Trinity, both parties have agreed to re-engage to drive forward proposals for a new Community Stadium at Belle Vue, to be delivered in 2020.

Both parties are committed to delivering quickly a scheme that works for all, and will bring much needed community facilities to the district.

On the back of this, agreement has been reached for Wakefield Trinity to remain at Belle Vue for the 2018 playing season.

Michael Carter, Owner of Wakefield Trinity, said, “The meeting was very positive. It cleared up some of the previous misunderstandings and explained some of the details behind the whole scheme, which the Club now understands more fully. The Club remain committed to seeing the Community Stadium come to fruition whilst safeguarding the long term future of the Club. The Club would like to thank both the 88M Group and the Council for this meeting. We now accept that there is no basis for any legal action against the Council and will work diligently alongside both parties to take this forward.”

Manni Hussain, Chairman of 88M Group, commented, “The meeting was extremely positive and cleared up any misunderstandings regarding the entire structure of the deal. I feel now this is a major step towards a new fantastic Community Stadium for the citizens of Wakefield, to be delivered in 2020 and securing Wakefield Trinity to remain at Belle Vue in 2018 and whilst the stadium is being constructed later in the year.”

No it isn't if all it is is BV getting a re-vamp - where is the rest of the community element? Even if BV happens a huge swindle has taken place - yuo as a ratepayer have been royally robbed blind.

What a strange thing to post but whilst you are reading I am sure you would like to put all our minds at ease by confirming you have a plan that involves returning to Wakefield without the possible support of the council.

Yes, I did.
