Have to say, the Shay would grace SL as a stadium. Even after the BV upgrade it won’t be as good a ground imho.
For me their are two clubs in the Championship that with the right investment could make it in SL. Bradford obviously, especially with so much relatively recent success to play on. Halifax is the other. Good ground, good latent fan base, strong RL area and so on.
With the right people in charge it could work unlike Leigh which as a place is just to small or Salford that as a place barely exists anymore.
Not that it matters who did or didn't go but if comments are going to be made on player performances or events during in the match, I'd say it definitely makes comments/opinions more credible when you were actually in attendance. Many times I've listened to a game on the radio or followed it on Twitter only to then watch the highlights afterwards and see an event play out so differently to how it was described previously.
On the back of Vastmans last comment, the Shay is an excellent stadium especially when taking into account that it's home to both the Panthers and the Halifax football team. Very well kept with excellent facilities and stands. A real pleasure visiting every time.
I really think Halifax have recruited well in the off season and played some good rugby, especially in the first 20 of the second half. Looking forward to watching them on Premier Sports this year, it's hard to see past Fev and Leigh but I'd like to see them competing at the top.

They were one of the bigger clubs back in the 80's and pulled in 9000 attendances. It's just a shame that we have kept on and keep on shrinking the top flight.
Mind you, their last season in SL was pretty forgettable.

I didn't know that, very interesting. Not sure on what they average at the minute, just had a look at their football attendance over the last few games and that's not brilliant either. Presumably bigger teams around them get the support...

Of course, but that wasn't the comment, was it. The comment if you read it was that a 52 - 24 scoreline does not under any circumstance and regardless of attendance or not does not and never will qualify as 'Edging it', would you not agree?

I really enjoyed the game yesterday, thought after the first 10 minutes of abit of a tussle including their ball steal try, we were very dominant even with a number of players missing. Thought Whitbread was the stand out forward and was impressed with Walker at half and C Hall in the centre again who took his try well. Thought Johnstone did well for his first hit out too. Lineham also looked very solid and offloaded at will whilst taking his try well. Credit to the younger lads in the second half who were playing against far better opposition then they have done in the 19’s. Thought overall it was a very productive game and a good atmosphere too.

I don't know mushy, didn't read that far back. I was throwing my two pence in on others comments on does it really matter but based on what you have said yes, I agree.

Really good summary for me is that..... I came away really enthused at the depth that we have. First half with our strongest (in my opinion) combinations available on the day we played some nice stuff.....
In the second half it was a merry-go-round of interchanges, and there was a good twenty minute period where Halifax really had a foothold on the pitch, but we were unsettled by interchanges (not a criticism - great opportunity for the young and new signings) and having only three or four of what I would currently consider to be regular starting or even interchange players. However, the quality is clearly there in these youngsters, and I expect a good chunk of well-deserved gametime for them this season.
With developments of the field, and then seeing this crop of youngsters playing yesterday in and amongst some of our wise old heads, I have to say I left a very happy man.
On another note, really liked the Shay, and the Fax fans were fab too. Tannoy announced 1339 in the crowd, and apparently Scott will be auctioning matchday jerseys for his testimonial, so look out for that!
