I've said all season the biggest problem was the speed the ball moved. We were just so slow, every runner had defenders on them as soon as they got the ball.

Today we were fast and accurate.
Gale passing to Max in a perfect position so he can catch at speed and then pick his pass has made the whole backline look slick.

Feel a little sorry for Dagger and Kay after their recent top class performances, but to trial Gale alongside Lino just had to be tried out, and who can say that it didn't work out. Lineham was a candidate for mom for me; taking some really high balls and good attacking runs. Hood had his best game since the drubbing of Cas away last season. Jowitt was pure class (again), and Langi was nothng less than a wild animal let loose. everybody was 110% all round. WELL DONE LADS!!!

If he's had a better game than that in his entire career, i will be shocked.

Dagger , Kay and whitbread are integral parts of our squad and have been outstanding for us when on the field. The good part of all this for me is that we can chop and change when injuries hit and still put in match winning performances.I’m sure Mash would rather have this type of selection headache than the previous 15 types of migraines where he couldn’t beg steal or borrow a win . I sound like a broken record but it’s no coincidence that 2 old stagers have come to the club, rallied the troops and the players have bought into it . Let’s all savour the big boppers last few games in a wakey shirt I say and watch the silky skills of Gale ,who had Williams in his pocket all game

Let's not Forget Griffin and Tanginoa to become available shortly, plus the French lads. Could it be we now have a much more bigger squad and places are not certain for anyone. Nothing like competition within the squad to get everyone to raise their game.

This could possibly be the greatest escape of many. Well done Wakey - even if Wire were dire and even though you can only beat what's in front of you, you did it in Spades.

Usually we get press reports suggesting that the teams we beat gave their worst performance of the season, or ‘have key players missing’ etc etc- in other words that was the reason they lost- no credit to Wakefield

This time the emphasis seems to be how well Trinity played and justifiably so.
Wire were outplayed in every department. They simply were not allowed to perform by an outstanding Trinity effort.

It was so refreshing to see a player control the game so well.....against a marquee player and England captain.

Loved seeing Fifita putting Vaughn on his booty too. Their forwards just seemed to shrink away.

Makes a nice change doesn't it? :P
An outstanding performance from 1-17 and difficult to pick a MOTM...
Great attacking play and also solid defence backed up with speed off the line and turning up for each other.
As you say, they were outplayed in every dept and made to look very ordinary.

Watched it back on Trinity TV...it was even better than I thought at the game. Forwards were dominant, Hood was fizzing, Gale, Lino and Jowitts interplay was superb and the backs were excellent,,,especially Lineham!
