I’m stunned that there still seems to be a nefarious nature to some individual attitudes… based on opinion… opinions based on personal preference and agenda…

The phrase that ‘ the squeaky wheel gets the oil’ never seemed so true… to the point that ‘old time’ fans like me are now devoid of information about the club I love… because of keyboard crusaders with little acumen, emotional intelligence or viable resource to ‘make a difference’ … attacking, undermining and running interference!

Sadly I don’t think a new owner will silence these people… it will just change the nature of the attack!!!

Or, as JM said last week, due diligence is on-going and these things take time

Due diligence as in can I meet your parents please Matthew. If I was Ellis I’d have walked at that and told him to find the money to keep this club alive himself. Minnards needs to go now so that this club can move forward. Total clean slate needed and let Ellis run the club how he sees fit with the the people he wants to employ.

No one seems to want go answer this question....

I don't think anyone is querying the need for due diligence, certainly I am not as we've been burnt before, however with the length of time past I feel we are beyond that now and are in the stages where one party is requesting something the other isn't willing to release (could be eitherway for all I know). The points yourself and AMI raised are all valid and can be answered promptly.

As for the business, to me it's a small one of circa 50 employees or so with a modest income. There has been enough time to pour over the financial aspects of it and time to discuss matters with the RFL.

I don't really understand why you think that is a bad question to ask?

So it would be good if Ellis answers the questions quickly, asks his questions quickly and then we move on.
But that isn't the case.

Wow I have no words. This is a fully grown man who now runs his own successful business after taking over from his parents. Theirs is absolutely no need to meet his parents unless he’s thinking of taking him out for dinner! I’ll give you something, you’re loyal, either that, brainwashed or jus blinded by faith.

'Negotiation' is beyond answering standard questions about the business.

I have no axe to grind with either MC or JM, and the latter I find an affable guy who I feel has the best interests of the club at heart and has done a great job in getting the club to where we are off the field. On it has been a disaster but I see that side of the business as the CEO's.

As for asking to meet someone's parents, if true, it is pretty undermining to that individual.

It is on this forum somewhere but it was mentioned that Matthew Ellis' father was actually investing (or investing to some degree) so, asking to meet him is the absolute right thing to do. What's also to say that ME is holding things up to see what league we are in? Yes he has helped massively to try and keep us in SL, but if that fails, maybe he is less interested.

Lots of things that both parties would need assurances on…what are the new owners plans to protect the clubs foundation, academy set up, community work, how long are they committed for, why do they want to own the club, where’s the money coming from, who will actually own the club, what happens if we get relegated, who will run it day to day…what are their credentials(!!!!). Now you might say many of those points are nothing to do with the current board but if due diligence is being done properly and to ensure the long term future of the club then it’s right those should be answered. Also Mr Ellis would have lots of questions and evidence needed from the current board.
exactly!
Nobody is doubting Matthew Ellis financial position. He’s got plenty.. however he also appears to be a busy lad , and will probably need to have someone helping with the running of the club..
this person needs to be a fit and proper person to be able to run a sports club..
I would of thought the RFL would also be able to sleep better at night knowing who this might be or who Mr Ellis has in mind…
