He's lost the plot if you ask me.
I think Nobby is looking to turn the attention away from the fact he's got a team full of overseas players. He more than most (an English man and ex GB Coach to boot) is neglecting his duties to develop and bring through local ENGLISH/HOME NATIONS players.
I really feel for the Wigan fans. A club steeped in tradition and a club that's in the past produced some top class home grown players now sees good local players are forced to leave the club to develop their careers and this is very sad to see.
The sooner we cap the number of overseas players per team the better it will be for the development of our home grown players and the future of team GB.
Agree 100% with this the man when put infront of a reported is a joke, he may well be like it away from the media spotlight too i guess.
He is full of sayings he finds funny and clever that simply make him look like a fool rather than talking in a straight manner and telling it like it is.
Noble is in my opinion in charge of several of the brightest prospects in British rugby league in the S Tomkins, S Ainscough and L Mossop, and they are not likely to get much of a look in while he is at the club.
No disrespect to Wakefield but the opening game against you at the JJB with your injury problems was the perfect opposrunity to give Tomkins a bench spot, especially as i would have meant we would not have had to shuffle the entire team when Riddell was spelled, but he never got a look in.
I personally given the game plan and tactics employed by Noble think he has very little credibiliy at any level anymore. Good players do not become bad players over night but they all seem to underperform at Wigan, coincidence, or is it due to the coaching?
Regards the union idea i have always been an advocate of looking to Union for talent but if he expects a top International player to come to league it simply will not happen. For me the key is to look at the pool of players below the top Internationals and also below the Premiership, there are some players who cannot break into the big time in Union as they do not have the game or mentality to be a top player in Union, and who are far more suited to League, these are the type of players that will not cost the earth and could have a real impact. I know Wakefield were looking at a wingman for Sandal briefly, he is not up to much, but at least they are looking and open to the idea, which i feel long term can only be of benefit top the club and code.
