24 year old NRL hooker looking to come over to Super League.

We are one of a few clubs looking to secure his services for 2018.

Any thoughts

The other two clubs are Leigh and Shudds.
If we keep going and secure a top eight finish, this may put us in the driving seat.
Even with the money Leigh have and Rick Stone at Shudds.

It would mean one of our current overseas players is leaving as our non-fed quota is currently full. Sio & Tupou are contracted for next year, Arona has another years option if both parties agree and the rest are out of contract.

I reckon Williams is probably up there with our biggest earners so the money could well be spent better elsewhere considering he's currently not even first choice, particularly if it's on a hooker. Although I wouldn't mind if he stayed as I don't think we've seen the best of him yet.

I thought Sio was off contract end of this year.

Weren't we trying to retain Williams not too long ago?

Although I do like Sio, he isnt in the team week in, week out at either 9 or 13.

Based on this, and our other overseas players, I would be offloading Sio.

Must admit, I like Sio also, he has served his purpose as the team has progressed from when he was first signed.
He does a job and fills in at hooker but if this means that it restricts Batch and Jordan's development, then he's unfortunately the one to get squeezed out.

Sio has done a good job for us but as said we have moved in standard and he is not featuring. Certainly no good having a quota spot for squad filler.

I think we need to do whatever it takes to keep Arona, he took a bit of time for him to settle but he is now one of the most consistent and underrated players in Super League.

Yes I agree those taking up quota spots really should be of the standard of playing week in week out.

For me, his best position is 13, but Arona plating there and playing very well too
