This weekend, on TV, I watched two excellent games of Rugby League which were played totally in the spirit of the game, and were exciting to watch.
Why oh why then is our game treated as the poor relation to that other game that is played under the banner of "Rugby" the eighty minute yawnathon that to all but people of this area appears to be only form of rugby there is. On TV shows people use the word "rugby " assuming that people understand that they are talking about RU: that RL doesn't exist in fact.
I know it's an old chestnut the RL v RU theme, but I wish that folk in the other parts of the country would realise just what they are missing, and what a great spectacle Rugby League can be!!!

Look no further than the man on £300k+ who supposedly runs the game. He's never on TV sharing the virtues of the game and then appoints an Aussie head coach who also seems bereft of interview techniques. The game is very poorly marketed and those in charge seem happy to let it continue that way

Same as the World Cup, Union calls their World Cup the Rugby World Cup, even though rugby league had a World Cup before Rugby Union,

Because they are better at telling people about it and selling the game.
It used to be Union keeping League down. Now it's our own for not making something of a great product.

Well if the reports on social media are correct some officials are getting very highly paid but I do not see much of a proactive or in your face media campaign like some other sports its a shame really.

I'd narrow it down further. I rarely read a comment on a RL forum or at a ground that isn't negative. Alternatively I've never met a Union fan who doesn't gush about the game. We the fans are the games worst salesmen, we are shockingly negative at times.

Example: Any other sport would rejoice in Cas and Wakefield doing well. Not RL, in RL it's a sign that the game is lacking quality - how they work that out is beyond me but it's all you ever read on the VT.

May I refer my learned friend to the above post made by you earlier in the day where by you needlessly got involved with 2 posters who were having a bit of a difference of an opinion, coming down on the side of one to highlight the self pity you are feeling because your not feeling the love.
If you don't like the VT no more then simply don't post on there, just my opinion, they're just like everybody has one, get over yourself.
