Super League XXIII - Where Will the Silverware Go Two weeks tomorrow, Betfred Super League XXIII gets underway as the Warrington Wolves welcome last season's Champions the Leeds Rhinos to the Halliwell-Jones Stadium in the opening fixture. A few minutes later the Challenge Cup winners Hull FC open their campaign with a home fixture against the Huddersfield Giants. Friday sees three fixtures with; Salford Red Devils at home to Wigan Warriors, St Helens entertaining the minor premiers the Castleford Tigers, and the newly promoted Hull KR at home against Wakefield Trinity. The final game of the opening round takes place on Sunday afternoon when the Widnes Vikings have their first game against last season's Million Pound victors, the Catalans Dragons. Think you are having a laugh with Warrington. Regardless of their signings they are over hyped I expect them in the bottom 4 again

Can't see that happening again. Think they'll be somewhere between 5th and 8th. I'd be shocked if the bottom four isn't Salford, Catalans, Widnes and Hull KR in some order.

I'd be shocked if there isn't a shock somewhere. I suspect that any 3 out of those 4 will be at the bottom along with someone you wouldn't have predicted.

Yeah, Wire is a hard team to pick how well they'll do this season, so many unknowns and variables.
I've seen people picking them for being in the top 2 and others as low as 8th and personally I can see why there's such a indecision in their ranking.
Even though they've signed a few good players like BMM, Robers & Goodwin, they've lost a hell of a lot of players and not signed that many in replacement, I think they have about 25 in their squad atm, which is one of the smallest I've seen. Add to that they've got a new Coach & Assistant, who we don't know how well he'll get them playing, plus they've got to get their players to gel and as we know that can take a fair few games. They've got a good starting 17 and Currie will be like a new signing this season, but a few injuries & they could be near where they were last season. ATEOTD they've signed 6 players and lost 14, so it's no wonder they're hard to judge.

Anyway, my guesstimate for this season is-

Saints
Cas
Leeds
Hull
Wakey
Wigan
Wire
Hudds
Catalans
Salford
Hull KR
Widnes.

Tbh though 1-8 could end up in any mix, so many factors can change teams season from injuries, confidence especially when you don't start well and getting a hard Cup run.
