Just seen some old footage of Sheffield's brilliant win against Wigan, forgot that Michael Jackson played in that final ex Trinity and GB international bloody fast for second rower great forward

Yep, I remember Jackson well, I remember him scoring a solo from 30-40 yds out against Saints at belle-vue way back...god knows when.
From memory, fast, he was fast for a forward, toured PNG with GB, got some kind of exotic leg infection there, came back and was never quite the same.
Went to Fax...or Hunslet, can't remember.

He did the injury over here, I think against France, in the 91/92 season.

I also think Gary Price played in the same game

I think we signed him from Hunslet. He then left us and went to Halifax.

Agreed, Jackson was quality, it was always an exciting moment whenever he got the ball, anything could happen.

.......and of course John Kear all have Wakefield connections from that cup winning team

Wigan had Henry Paul and Lee Gilmour playing
and Tony Smith too!

And although they didn't play in the final Neil Law & Bright Sodje were also in the Sheffield squad that year.

For those that are too young to remember him, I am thinking a current comparison would be McCarthy Scarsbrook ??

IMHO, miles better than that guy. Don't think there's anyone currently comparable to MJ in his pomp. Maybe Ben Murdock Masilla but less power and more pace?

Jacko was a wide runner rather than a middle man like LMS.

I'd say more like a Ben Currie......or the Ben Currie he will be if he keeps to his potential.
