Seriously what has he brought to the party. Our defense worse this year our attack is worse infact we look like Catalan did last year. Not sure what he's brought to the team. I feared losing Kear would be a v bad loss and it's proving right he was clearly the brains behind the operation last year. Our patterns in attack and defense are appalling. We even manage to let them have a 2 man overlap with a player sin binned. Disgrace. 2 wins in 10 isn't good enough. I can see Widnes giving us a hiding next week. Something isn't right.

Who knows? It might be worse without him? Hardly clear enough to single the assistant coach out for this form.

The whole set up is wrong this season, from coaching down to player management everything seems out of kilter . The coaches don’t seem to have a clue and that filters down onto the pitch, where we find for large parts of games the players don’t have a clue.
Don’t know what has happened and not blaming one particular person but they all need a kick up the jacksy from top to bottom . Talking about underachieving with the team we’ve got is an understatement .

Certainly more to blame than him I'm just saying nothing has changed for the better and wondering what he is doing?

I'm sure Monaghan will be very much still in the learning part of his coaching career, only joined Catalans in 2015 but during a difficult time down in the south of France. Wouldn't expect to see him come good overnight.

Hard to say really and too early. I also dont think you can draw too many conclusions from Catalans.

Does he have any say at all on team selection, if not I think hes got a tough job, considering the head coach is chopping and changing all the time.

I do think though that having ex players in your coaching staff that have played in different positions is good

Coaching defence, but more often than not that hasn't been the issue this season, more so the attack is looking very laboured and, HKR aside, we haven't really hit the straps in this department.

Maybe Monaghan is doing all he can on the training field when he's with the players but once they go onto the match day field, there's not a lot he can do.
Players need to take responsibility for their own roles without being told what to do at every step.
