May have got this wrong but weren't you making a big thing pre season about running a reserve team. If so surely you just promote from there.

We can of course promote but we haven't bought 50 top super league players have we. So you have to decide who's best to play.
Just the same as if you had to promote someone from the high numbers in your squad or u19 team.

Really hoping for some good news on the four that went off on Friday in the lead up to the cas game, taking out Miller, Wood and Lyne takes away probably the most threatening players we have going forward with Tupou and Johnstone already out (probably Fifita aside). Randall is back in training and is a chance for the squad against cars and obviously if we get the new signing over the line those 2 give us a bit of a boost. So frustrating as I think had we played Cas with the team we started with on Friday then we would hav (finally) got a result, that said I will be there cheering the boys on as always.

Could we line up something like...

Jowitt
A.N.Other
Arundel
Horo
BJB

Reynolds
Hampshire

Fifita
Ashurst
Arona
Pauli
Kirmond
Crowther

Hirst
King
Kopczak
Annakin

That’s some strike missing for us, but do you know what...that’s still not a bad side at all considering!

Think I'd have Crowther at Hooker with Ashurst in back row.

Would start with either King or Kopczak, move Arona to the 2nd row and have Kirmond on the bench.

I thought about that but then thought it might be an idea to try and at least keep something familiar to recent weeks and I think it's worked really well with Kopczak and King playing from off the bench, so if it aint broke and all that? Kirmond has been kept fresh and I actually think in the games he's played this year he's been very good and when setting up defensively I'd have him right edge to help Horo along in the centre.

The hooker is the big one if Wood or Randell don't make it and I think it will be shared between Ashurst and Crowther...although again..when we haven't got the ball I'd like to see Ashurst defending the left edge alongside Arundel to protect Reynolds as much as possible as I'm sure Cas will target him with big MM as they usually do with Miller on that edge...

Would be really nice if all this guesswork was a waste of time though and 2 or 3 of the injured players aren't as bad as first thought and are able to play!

Probably not what people want to talk about but when was the last time we beat Cas? Really struggling - was it at theirs when we got the 3 late tries under Webster?

Really need to put that right but clearly going to be up against it.

Cas may well be our new bogey team after we've seemingly broken the Hudds hoodoo. Predicting a Cas win but we thrive in adversity, so you never know
