How anyone can question Ashurst’s performances in any game is beyond me, always one of the top performers on the park, might not catch the eye but without him on the field we are not as good a team

All our 2nd rowers play one dimension running at all times as extra centres, they do not run opposite angles of play deep in as 2nd line options in the attacking line from play the ball especially when 1st receiver or 2nd receiver is a half back who likes his options. I have watched this for a while & wonder about our coaching & training. It is to be fair my only concern in our attacking at the moment. You can watch the top three teams, not us, have these options on a regular basis, mostly from 20m out from the try line.

Can’t understand why some on here are not Superleague coaches, yet people who have no idea like Chester are.

Yours is genuine opinion, don't go down the route of sarcasm like he has.

Think people can remember Ashurst during his debut season when he would regularly bust through down that left hand side.

Re: Danny Kirmond : Sun Apr 21, 2019 5:42 am
Ashurst still runs the lines he always has but teams rightly heavily mark him so we don't see him bust through quite as much as we did
He is a class player

Danny still has plenty to offer and is wakey to his core
He is still captain fantastic as far as I am concerned and if he wants to play on next year again that's up to him but I'll support him either way for what he is today and not what he was a few years back

Having a big quad in modern super league is vital
And luckily that's what we have

What's up with people
We lost marginally to cas and are 5th despite having 7 or so players injured

This seasons is going really well (minus the injuries)
We just need to try and get by until Broughy, Milky and Bill come back

This is going to be our season! Keep the faith

How anyone can criticise Ashurst is absolutely beyond me - he may not be getting the service, but he runs great lines and if anything, is well marked because of how good he was last year; he's an absolutely outstanding player and rarely puts a foot wrong - ever.

As for Kirmo - he looks to me like a player who still knows exactly what to do, absolutely wants to do it, but is let down sometimes by his body; I don't mind us using him sparingly to extend his career - because he definitely still has something to offer.

Kirmond wasn't bad against Leeds. He made good ground and defended well.
He isn't our best option but I'm glad he's here now we have injuries.
