Best way if you ask me is to go back the original rules of the ruck still employed by rugby union and allow the attacker to rake the defender out of the way with their studs. It'll stop I assure you.
 and then we can get the lawyers involved as there was intent to harm

Yet no one has ever sued anyone in Rugby Union where they can afford good lawyers. Strange that.

oh there has been actions there out there some aren't as you suggest just heeling the player out of the way incidents but if you do that action you are likely to be deemed to seen to be doing it with intent to harm.

Non of those quotes are for rucking though.
But it was only a light hearted point.
I played a long time as a front rower and was never kicked or stamped on. And I was at the bottom of the ruck a lot.
Foul play is just foul play and should always be treated as such.

they wasn't was there but I'm sure there was one here a player deliberately stamped on an opponent and the blood from it was bad, its the intent to harm that's the question

This is a sensible move - and shows that social media and fan pressure can make a difference.

I have no issues with the stepping back rule - for the sake of losing one step of ground, the attacker can get a quick ptb - which seems to be the holy grail of modern RL; such that attempts to prevent it is the genesis of most of the cheating that so infuriates spectators and coaches (but only when it's done to them - not when they do it.)

I hope he moves on to milking penalties next - the other scourge of the modern game that ruins the spectacle.

I'm less arsed about that, because it does tend to get penalised; what I really despise though, is the spectacle of a strength conditioned, musclebound, professional athlete, collapsing to the floor like my Nan after a couple of sherrys, in an attempt to "win" a penalty - it's pathetic, footballesque behaviour, that would once have earned the transgressor a dig in the jaw from his own teammates for showing them up, but now seems to be part and parcel of how we gain metres.

Mr Ganson becomes my new favourite if he deals with that too.
