Second fiddle seems unnecessarily negative - they're different players. Broughy is an old school scrum half, and probably one of the finest exponents of that dying art in the SL era - an era which has produced alarmingly few genuine world class SH's. Miller is a modern, running stand-off, usually a bloody good one, who benefits hugely from Broughy's ability to spot a play and set it up.
Hampshire is a bit betwixt and between - he's certainly nowhere near Brough and is perhaps close to Miller in terms of the more modern interpretation of the interchangeable 6 & 7 - what I believe the Aussies have christened the 5/8.
In an ideal world, Brough & Miller are probably our best combination in that they complement each other very will; Brough and Hampshire would also work but not as well - but for me, Hampshire and Miller is just two players who are too similar, and neither brings out the others strengths.

Not wishing to be negative at all but meaning they play better off a
‘Little General’ like Broughy.
