Any fair minded person would have to agree that this season has been pretty much ruined by injuries and key injuries at that. This is no excuse it’s a fact. We were doing pretty up until the Wigan game where we picked up a few injuries too many.Barring an exceptional display the CCup is out I fear and top 5 looks tricky.
However all is not lost as the team continues to develop. Players like Jowitt and Crowther are looking the part. All the players you want to keep with a few exceptions are signed up.
The really good thing is the standard of the new players we are now bringing in. Tangles looks a quality NRL signing, whilst King looks to have some great years ahead of him. With a number of players reaching the end of the line we will have some space to add more quality next year.
If we’d have stayed injury free or close too this year I still believe we’d be in the mix. With some luck and a few better players next year should be the best yet.
Some clubs have five year plans. We can’t really afford that, ours may be a bit longer but we are still very much on the up in real terms but nobody wins owt without a little good fortune.
