Just watching saints first half, noticed similar with HKR. Today, players fit enough for various angle runs giving options to man with the ball making it difficult for defenders to read & defend, defenders tire & feel under pressure thus loose focus. Yes you have to all be fit at pace, we WAKEY T currently, are not ! We are better than we used to be but we must up the level in order to move on to the next higher level. If we don't then we will remain a 50% team.
We have this argument every year when we don't win games. Angles of running is nothing to do with fitness.
If you drop the ball like we did against London you don't have an equal share of possession so you are working harder on defense. Simple as that. It's all technique.

Rubbish, if we could sign one person from Saints to make the biggest improvement to our team, it would not be Roby,Lomax, Coote etc it would be their conditioner. Even the Sky team made comment about it. They are light years in front of us fitness wise and that's why they are so good this year. We have not had a decent conditioner at our club since Geoff Evans was here and that's a fact.

Your right PB we look a lot slower than most of the other teams in Super League Saints look like they're enjoying themselves they know exactly where to be
Thanks Prince buster, it's a little sad that the club owner & coaching staff whome I might add I support & like do not recognize this & change it/things, we now look very tired during matches & hence we show a little punch during match for limited minutes ! Whenever it's mentioned people go into protective mode, which is admirable but doesn't address a glaring fact/s. We can but hope we address this some time.

I'll take your rubbish and raise you a 'poor understanding'. If we are so unfit, why are we coming back into the games later on. We are starting slowly. That's not fitness.
Of course we could benefit from being fitter but that isn't what makes Sts so good. It's that Roby passes the ball further and Lomax, Roby, Coote etc pass the ball straight to hands so they limit the work they have to do.
I'd also say tactics in defence are a problem for us with some bad decision making. You could put a load of SAS guys in their but if all they do all day is tackle they'll be knackered too.
Fitness is quite a wide term and conditioning is much better.
If you are conditioned, you are quicker stronger and more mentally alert and aware.
Conditioned poorly and you are slower ,fatigued quicker, react slower and far more prone to mistakes and bad judgement.
Pop Tart you have proved my point, because all the factors that you mention ,like dropping ball, bad errors, etc forcing you to defend more and hence look unfit. Are brought about by being poorly conditioned in the first place. Its so obvious I am surprise you have failed to see it.

Well you just changed the word so that might be why I failed to see it. I'm saying it isn't fitness. If you are now saying mentally tough, able the make good decisions under pressure then I agree, though some are just not skilled enough to do it when fresh either.
Let's agree that we need to work on improving it at training with ball in hand, not in the weights room or on a treadmill.

SOrry mate but this fitness thing is a red herring thrown in by folk who don’t really get it. All teams condition the same, you don’t seriously believe Saints have a secret formula because if you do that’s total rubbish.
Fitness is in the mind a lot of the time, teams on form and full of confidence appear effortless at times but that’s not conditioning that’s just what happens when you’re winning.
Also if we were not fit how come we’ve won so many games late on? Unfit teams simply don’t do that.
We really need to move on from this tired old theory that only gets wheeled out like certain posters when we lose.
For me it’s not fitness it’s attitude. We need to ply for 80 mins not 60, 40 or even 20 as against London.
