Buy the way out.

Nothing wrong but note, not only are Leeds to buy their way out & I point out that they unlike wigan are going it within the rules correctly ! But when the RL rules which may change shortly to 3 marque players, this action will gets around salary cap which has seen an evening up of teams thus this season is the most tightest - compressed ever. But the big boys don't like it & want their unassailable position/s back ! Therefore salary cap is useless.
I am not jealous or petty or against it, just wondering what you think of it, what will be, will be !
Times are a changing !

Although I get what you are saying, they are letting some big salaries go to fund it so not that unfair.

Marquee player are all well and good if they come here to play , Catalan although not classed as marquee player had some Aussies who were there for the ride a few seasons ago and to my mind it just adds Upset in the changing room. Also wouldn't say Leeds marquee player/s have blown me away so far

I don't have a problem clubs having a 3rd Marquee player, but it should only be allowed if at least one of the three are a British or French player (in the case of Catalan).

I'm not sure what to think about the 3rd marque player.
As we are currently, there are 4/5 clubs in the league that have/can afford any marque players. Therefore, any change in allowing a 3rd player, would only affect some of those clubs.
However, if the rule is there and clubs can afford the additional spend, then, they would be foolish not to try and maximise their chances of either winning something or, avoiding the drop.
You have to say that Leeds, regardless of whether they avoid the drop, look to be in a right mess and it seems obvious that the decision to sack Furner was taken way too quickly.

What even is a marquee player any more?

If marquee = Konrad Hurrell for example, then I would suggest that the original intent behind the rule change has been somewhat diluted...

What, you mean Leeds getting the cheque book out and buying up poorer teams best players ????
Nothing new there then

According to this weeks League Express they have signed Lui from Salford with almost immediate effect, but (and this is where it gets complicated) the deal is dependant on the Whinos freeing up a quota spot which will be Parcell to HKR with Lunt also going back to Headingley, but this can only happen if Vaivai leaves HKR and goes to Toulouse !!!!!
Apparently, they also offered £400k to Salford for Hastings on a 3 year deal but he wasn't interested :SUBMISSION: :SUBMISSION:

Just our luck that they sign Lui and Hastings after we've played Salford.
