Somebody has posted on this forum that the players have been given 5 days off and some of them have jetted off to warmer climes, can the poster please confirm this is an April Fool leg pull in July. If true, when they come back maybe the club could fit in a golf day, Cricket match and maybe a BBQ if any player happens to have a birthday before the St Helens game.

Haha that was me and it's no April fool! At least four of them have gone abroad going by instagram alone. There will likely be more.

There is two trains of thoughts about it. Given recent performances then there is obviously a need for a lot of work to be done on the training field and this next fortnight is the perfect opportunity to do that. But sometimes half the battle when in a rut like ours is whats going on between the ears (both players & coaches) and a period away from rugby might just freshen the mind whilst also allowing a few niggles to heal. This might help future efforts just as much as the extra training, use it as a chance to clear the mind and renew focus. It's six and two threes to be honest and only time will tell whether the club has made the right call. One thing is for sure to justify it i expect to see and much improved performance at Saints next up. I don't expect a win, i do expect to give them a game. Anything less and it should be Chesters last stand.

I can see the benefit. Hammering people when they're already down generally does no good. It could work,it may not, but I don't begrudge the players getting a break.

I've heard that they're being allowed home to see their wives and kids at certain times too. FFS!

Most teams not involved in the cc are giving their players a break and I genuinely think it will do our players good as long as they come back with a fresh attitude.

The important word there is 'if'.

I can see a case for this. Psychology is a big influence in all sports and our guys look battered in a number of cases. A fewc days to take a deep breath and come back refreshed may not be a bad thing

I’ve no issue with them taking a break, quite frankly it could hardly make them any worse.
