Opinions on our pivot players.

I have read all our fans postings, also, in judging our plays by our half backs, there seems to be some factual truth that brought & Miller cannot play together, they cannot pair up together in a move or set plays, to be fair, Finn was not skilled as though but he could link & play with Miller before his poor play set in due to lose of the big of speed he had. But, he knew how & when to link with miller, use Miller as cool or work the other side edge etc.
So my point is, fitting in to the team, it's plays, & most important playing as a collective, we have lost this latter point.
Therefore, both need to grow up, work together & not apart, they should be skilled enough to do this !
This should happen regardless of how the forwards play is setting a platform etc & the whole team playing as a collective. Our coach & owner needs to split them up if they continue to not mix it together, note Catalan dropped Smith & they picked up !!!

you should be able to drop any player not performing and give his shirt to another up and coming youngster unfortunately we have more players underperforming and not enough squad members to cover.

I’m no expert on tactics in a game ,but to me when our forwards are getting dominated in a game as with Wigan on thur ,how on earth are the half’s supposed to put some moves on when they have little or no time to act .Wigan we’re up in our faces and all over us like a rash in that game which resulted in very little go forward if any ,NRL halves would have a torrid time behind our pack never mind our two acting half’s .For me it’s not individuals at fault but the whole team that needs to lift a gear and show some steel in both attack and defence ,then I’m positive you’ll Get the best out of the half’s .

Hmmmmmm, chicken & egg this one, good half backs play behind a good pack of a dominating pack, that is the main belief & correct in most case's.
However conversely, good half backs dominate their own forwards in mouthing to the forwards to lay deep, run hard, straight & some @ angles to create options & confusion to defences, these good & great experience half backs drive the game through asstute & varied passes, then the forwards can dominate the play.
Ours are now experienced but are not doing this so the forwards play one up rugby making the opposition look good, better than they are, look at london, they do this & give the opposition a real game.
Therefore, a chicken & egg scenario, is which comes first !
I do however, appreciate our defence is poor as we do not play as a collective & with dogged determination.
Sad to say we are easy beats now !

I would hope when the players come back refreshed that our defence will be worked on. That said, I cannot believe that it hasn't been a priority before now, so perhaps it's the players that need working on to stick to the defence plan!
As for the Brough/Miller partnership - already discussed elsewhere - easily solved, Hampshire to Stand off, Max to FB. Worth a punt surely?

Do we never learn to emulate the tactics and moves from those opposing teams that defeat us heavily? If Wigan defenders are up on us quickly at each ptb, then why aren't we. If the opposition prevent offloads, again, why don't we? if such basic tactics reach the desired outcome, then surely that's the way to play. BUT WE DON'T LEARN!!!

It will be very hard for us to change the way we play for the last six games as we've been playing like this for years

Eleven Super League coaches, a big percentage of Wakey fans, Garry Schofield, etc., think Danny Brough should not be one of them, therefore, next game back you can bet he gets another chance.

Exactly. This is the stubbornness that will get us relegated.
