This is an horrendous injury, to the ankle joint where the tibula & fibula join the ankle joint with soft tissue & ligaments. Did anyone see the Catalan v Warrington game where Blake Austin went down in a tackle run for the line & he was down, held & a player came in late from behind causing maximum hurt ! - - off went Blake & now has this terrible injury, you could say it's a game hazard, but late deliberate tackles where a player cannot defend himself is not a game hazard !
I do hope this injury does not finish his career in that he is never the same especially from this behaviour !

I remember a Whinos player doing the same to Gareth Ellis at BV, having a right game, twists his foot round in the tackle then off injured not to return, still riles me up , even to this day.

Injuries especially this last couple of years are ruining the game. There’s been a lot of games this year where trans have been lacking half their starting line up. Gang tackles are just one of the many reasons - but probably the one that really could be stamped out - 3 or 4 th man in cannon ball into back of leg should be an automatic binning

Wigan at home in April, helped ruin our season with the injuries we suffered in that game.

Up the Trin

IMO if the RFL implemented a “punishment should fit the crime” disciplinary procedure, I.e a season ending injury should result in a season ending ban, perhaps that might change certain teams ways of tackling. Instead of this ridiculous grading system.
