I still remember the two games against Salford a couple of seasons back.
We played them in the league on the Sunday and won late in the game, with Jowitt playing a blinder and giving the assist for the match winning try.
He was then dropped the following week for the cup game, with Grix returning and we duly lost.
At that particular time Jowitt was playing better but was dropped for the senior player, who had a bloody nightmare in the second game.

We dont know what goes on in training and with the coaching staff but, that was very harsh and IMO wrong for both club and player.

Agree, Grix did OK for us but at the cost Jowitt progressing further.

It's a tricky one for the coach as he's on a no win situation but, when a player has put in a MoM performance they shouldn't be dropped, even if they have been "baby sitting" a senior players spot in the side.
Jowitt was superb in that first game, really superb and it must have stuffed his confidence when he was "rested" for the return.
A similar thing happened before we played and lost to Huddersfield at magic a couple of seasons back as well.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"

If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

Max in front of Grix all day long , big mistakes in games, far more than Max as ever done, watched many games with him at FB on Trinity tv and at times was shocking, I don’t bag players whilst in a Trinity shirt, be he frustrated the hell out of me but seemed to come away unscathed. Focus on him in games on tv.

Not sure about TOTD but in recent years i agree with BLM. Think Grix was alright for us and did have some good games but he was a frustrating player. I'd have Jowitt ahead of him and Hampshire ahead of Jowitt if i'm honest. Shame that after his breakthrough season Max hasn't been able to hold down the starting spot, when he gets a run in the team I think he's a great player. Can't help being constantly in and out of the team and seemingly dropped for making any mistake.

For me the best FB was Blaymire, except he wasn't.

His tackling was excellent, he was unbreakable under the high ball, his positioning in defence was excellent as it was in attack, in fact, his positioning in the attacking line was the only reason he ever scored.

You see unfortunately despite all that he lacked pace, worse still it was a chronic lack of pace, the sort that would have embarrassed a prop from the 1970''s.

No idea why he looked tha part but he just couldn't run. This totally overshadowed his game and sometimes made him look a poor player when he wasn't. It's not that he couldn't tackle the player, he could he just couldn't reach them in time and ditto almost everything else.

Such a shame.

Grix is a funny one, he clearly had his good point but boy he had some bad ones. Clearly the coaching staff thought this acceptable but it left me wondering at times.

I actually quite like Hampshire tbh but that looks like it's now not going to happen.

Yep, unfortunate all round. Weird with Chester saying he would like to keep Escare for next year, you would have thought if we had the funds available he would have been keen to sign Hampshire up.

Totally agree about Blaymire FC, I also liked him , but I must admit Halfpenny just edges it for me of past players but if Ryan is moving on I’d have Max at FB and if Ryan is staying then I’d use Ryan in the half’s.
