Isn't Sam Williams out of contract at Canberra Raiders at the end of this 2019 season?
I don't think he is getting regular first team game time down under and with George Williams leaving Wigan to join Canberra, he may be open to offers to come back to Super League.
Would be nice to see him back again in the Red White and Blue.
Danny Brough is getting on a bit, and whilst he as always been a superb top class half back and match winner, i think next season with us will probably be one too far for him in SL.
We could loan Danny out to play with one of the championship sides to keep him match fit .
I think we are going to need another quality half back, as with Ryan Hampshire leaving we are looking a bit short of choices in that department.

Love to see him back but don’t think it worked out with his family in 2017

Needs to be partnered by a half with pace and a step (a Ryan Hampshire kind of player ;)) to be a true success for me otherwise Trinity would still be easy to defend against.

I agree and wasn’t saying he is quick as Hampshire, just that he does have pace and to be fair I am not sure there are too many half backs that have serious pace, their job is more to create for others

I totaly agree ! Long gone are the stand offs with pace to burn , you would not see toppo going 50 yards plus one i can remember and saw quite a bit of was John Woods at Leigh ! then again has it been coached out of them to pin there ears back .

I love to watch pace, wether half’s or outside backs, but the role mainly is to bring in the forwards , but nice to have it if space is available all the same.

It’s funny but many on here were glad to see him leave. I guess this is a sign of the times, with many supporters seeing our shortcomings in the number 7 spot. These same supporters having lost Hampshire know we need somebody because we cannot go another season with an ageing Brough, nor could we do our usual and use a utility player to fill this position.
I am sorry but two good games over a disastrous period cannot be glossed over, we survived but no one wants to go through it again. We have released a chunk of the squad so let’s hope the powers that be have plans to bring in players who will improve the team. I look forward to seeing our final list of signings at which point we will have a better chance to understand the clubs ambitions for next season.
