There must be some people on here with cash to burn, I hum and hiss about stumping up to go to Newcastle. Still never been to France and only managed London twice, any more would skint me and I'm not all that badly paid either.
One world are doing a 7 night break, 3 in toronto 4 in New York for £1500 per person I'm planning on flying to New York on the 1st, then up to niagra friday, Toronto Saturday and Sunday's then fly back Monday, costing me £800ea, only thing I haven't sorted is how I'm getting from New York to niagra, I'm contemplating driving the 400miles, but may get another flight, niagra is only 85miles from Toronto

I know this is a "Toronto" thread but, Perpignan is really simple. We've usually flown from Stanstead, direct and at the moment, return flights are £60 + Ryanair baggage charges
Loads of places to stay, from Ibis budget and go up in price from there, plus hostals, Airbnb etc
The drive to Stanstead is a right royal pain but, it's the easiest way to get there. Alternatively, fly into Carcassonne and transfer down.
Definitely worth a trip and to go to such a great place to watch Trinity is just a bonus
For those that like cheap beer etc there's always the Catalan Sports tours, staying in Lloret

In the past I have flown to Carcassone, Toulouse, Montpellier and driven to perpignan, also done the standstead trip to perpignan and got the bus in to the city (€2:20ea) I've also driven down and back all the way but wouldn't recommend that again. Perpignan can be expensive to eat and drink but there's is plenty of choice from kebab shops to Michelin star, and there's always the supermarket for beer, matchdays are cheaper for pints if you drink in the right places. I think a few go to Lorett to save a few quid but end up having a few extra days so probs costs the same as a long weekend in perpignan.

A couple of seasons back, because the Wakey game was so early in the season, we went over to Toulouse for a long weekend, which was cheap as chips in all departments: drink. travel and accommodation. You dont get the beach trip (Canet or Colliure) but, it was a great trip and one that I would recommend.
Always seen the remote games as an opportunity , bern to see Catalan several times - would never have visited carcassone without following trin - amazing place , similarly would never have visited Cardiff without magic weekend , really looking forward to going to Toronto - hoping to meet my brother there who emigrated 30 years ago ,
Re the money have always been a big believer that people always find the money to do what they really want to do plus all their games are on tv which makes it easy to see and as I understand it has created a financial bonus for the clubs
