Looking at the contract situation the club and the chairman has to have a lot of credit. The bulk of players thata re signed up until at least the end of 2021 are all the players you need to build a squad around and our promising talent. I know with the injuries this year it has been a depressing second half to the season but building on the core squad we have we should have some exciting times as Wakefield fans. The key to it for me is a stand out halfback (Brough due to finish career) and 2 more decent prop forwards for me.

My thoughts too.
Now Westerman has signed, do we assume the others mentioned on various posts will follow, Pitts and Walker?
Good players but not filling posts that are light IMO - prop and half back cover.
If I see that I'm sure CC won't have missed it so maybe there's a surprise or two to come.....?

Of these who is in the ‘overseas’. category?
From that how many overseas players could we add?

I would extend BJB and I'd extend Kopczak.
The kids will obviously depend on how they progress this year.
Brough is probably in his last year so wouldn't renew.

I agree there PT, regarding Brough.

Maybe, like they did with Liam Finn in 2018, he starts the season, but to have someone ready to replace him, and gradually move on. Whether thats a British half back or overseas, who knows.

I was looking on the NRL off contract players yesterday, and most of them that came up didn't have a lot of match day experience

Kopczak definitely, I think he has a good few years left in him and was our most consistent player this season.

BJB, I am not sure - Although he still has pace, he has lost a yard or 2 and I would expect the same to happen again in the next year, he also seemed to lack that confidence to back himself last season which he has shown throughout his career. Still a good player but going into 2021 will be knocking on the door of 33 and I would be very surprised if we did not have better options for the wing by then.

Ones in Red are Overseas/Quota I believe. Think the ruling is now that you can have 7 so potentially 2 spots available

So the budget might run to a up coming half back.
