Rl always has the knack of shooting itself in the foot on the big stage .The union side are going great guns in their comp ,so we put a misfit of players in ours and get what we deserve .If we weren’t going to treat it seriously why bother at all .
We looked light years behind the Aussies n kiwis in our skill levels .
Takes me back to last test against kiwis at elland Rd to watch final test ,big crowd came out to watch and got served up a howler of a game ,when will we ever learn .

Just looking at the GB squad it must have been a conscious effort to pick those players and save others because a 9s team with Lomax, Connor, Gildart and Hastings to add to Tompkins and Williams would have been far better.

My thoughts exactly! You need speed and mobility, not size. Reece would have been great in such a situation with him having both pace and strength

Having watched most of the games, including the women’s, who might I say were pretty impressive, the Aussies and the Kiwis not only had the size but had the speed to compliment it, something we cannot match. Hall and Magillvery looked like cart horses compare to their Thorobreds.
